@Kiwiwomble Ribs , also hearing Scott Barrett very doubtful
savea captain then
-
@Kiwiwomble most likely, or maybe Jordie
-
that would have to be a bit of a slap in the face, 80min nailed on selection who has captained before get overlooked
-
@Kiwiwomble aren't they both vice-captains
-
aaand that's me sticking money on England at the ridiculous price being offered

well, i didn't think it was a great bet, but you take the team's i have seen floating around, remove Scott Barrett (jesus i can't believe i am saying that is a difference maker) and even Clarke, with a new coaching group and a 2 week prep?
$5.80 is huge overs
-
ooh Darry come on down. Actually the whole remaining Blues forward pack might have some suitcases ready.

Screeams value to me. And I as mentioned a to you a few hours back, happy to lose a few bucks to see a win over england (which I would genuinely be surprised to see)

First Fives, McKenzie and Barrett viewed as the only legitimate options, in my mind they don't rate Plummer, Cameron etc. as viable options right now, and don't view Millar etc. to have done enough to yet show they are worth having in the squad like they have done with Bell.
I'm not sure I buy this exactly. There's a bit more to it for this particular squad.
For example - in this squad make up without Jordan - if you assume they want to run DMac at 10 then Perofeta is the next fullback option if Beauden goes down.
If they picked Plummer he would be 3rd in line at 10.
Perofeta's ability to play fullback gives him the edge over Plummer.
I would like to see Plummer given the opportunity to cover 15 as he is a superior 10 but time will tell.
He covers 12 but they picked DH in the wider squad.

What does Reuben Thorne have to do with this?

Oh how the room full of media and support staff awkwardly laughed as Scott Robertson announced Jordie Barrett as replacement captain for his injured brother. When questioned by journalists whether it was because of his leadership work with the Hurricanes, or the growth as a key leader in the All Black backline. One journalist even quipped with a wry smile, a bit of nepotism aye Razor, keep it in the family.
Robertson scanned the room and his response was priceless. In three simple words he said, look up there. The room shifted in their chairs and looked at a screen that had.

Locks, Lord is injured, Holland is unavailable, they don't rate the other options so therefore only picked three. Darry is there as cover, but only as the next best option because they have to have someone. If they rated him, he'd have been picked in the squad, because picking three locks is absolutely braindead.
I think what they’ve done there is perfectly understandable. If they rate Lord (which I think they do) then they won’t necessarily want to bring Darry in ‘officially’ yet.
Plus they have Finau in the squad who is more than capable of covering lock for in game options if required. Again with a smaller squad those calls have to be made.
In a 36 man squad they pick another prop, lock, loosie and 10/utility back
32 is an arbitrary number though... if they really rated him, they could have picked 33.

If anything Perofeta has been picked as a 15 because he can cover 10, not the other way around.
That's essentially my point. By picking Perofeta at 15 I don't see that as them saying they don't rate Plummer as a 10.
My argument is more that by picking four wingers rather than an extra 10, when BB is probably the backup 15, that you could argue they don't rate Plummer?

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Given Clarke was not 100% fit after the final a 4th winger makes more sense than Plummer as a 3rd choice 10 with BB, DMac, Perofeta already in the squad.

Plummer is about twice to a hundred times better at ten than perofeta, love the same at 15. he's a fkn liability and if he ends up on the field he will be found out

Maybe it's the one eyed Canes fan in me but I feel like Lakai has been doing for 2 years what Sititi did for 2 months.
Not saying Sititi doesn't deserve it, far from it. But wonder why they went that way over Lakai.
Can see more physicality in Sititi. Can See Lakai being the long term 7 though.
