@mariner4life Pretty accurate, just a weird season for some teams
but for Penrith and Melbourne business as usual

early reports out of Eels land are interesting.
Unsurprisingly Jason Ryles will not be retaining the services of Trent Barrett, who has to find another club to drag to a spoon.
But the sort of surprising one is King Gutho's time as the Eels fullback looks like it is coming to an end -

RCG also leaving
no surprises on TBaz though

no pressure, Raiders v Warriors in Vegas to be on free to air channel of potential 125 million viewers. Not a bad result for the NRL
-
they clearly did not watch the game on the weekend before signing off on that.

they still don't really know what they will be watching

and before I forget also a shout out to Peter V'landys for the effort in driving equality in the game!

Old school Winfield Cup
Going up in 4s

Not sure the Warriors win tonight without AFB. He's going to leave a huge hole in attack next year.
Hopefully the new guy coming in will be able to provide similar go forward up front
Unfortunately, for all his strengths I don't think he matches AFB for pure ball carrying and try scoring ability close to the line.

Just wanted to say how happy I was for Chanel last night. He was landed with long kicking and goal kicking last week and just wasn’t ready. A week later they gave it back to him and he was solid. Long kicking game was accurate enough without having a big boot, but he missed the first 2 goal kicks from the sideline. So when then the next had a little bit of chicken on the bone and he nailed it everyone cheered. What was great was the smile as he was kicking it and the celebration when he landed it. The rest of the kicks were easy so boosted his confidence. The point being last week was just awful but he was given another shot and bounced back. Love that - good on him and Webster for trusting him. Great reminder of what sport is about.

Broncos are done for the year, shut them down

The byes always make the ladder look a little weird, but we can start putting lines through teams.
you probably need 12 wins to play finals. Which means the Warriors and the Broncos need to win 4 from 5. Fat fucking chance. Newcastle would need 4 from 6, but also their for and against is awful. Write them all off.
Next up the Dolphins, Canberra and the Dragon need 3 from 6. Of those 3 only the Dolphins have a decent for and against. However, the Raiders and the Dolphins play 6 against teams above them on the ladder. St George get the the Titans and the already holidaying Eels.
The top 7 should all make it now. The Bulldogs look likely to finish top 4
Games pretty much to form. Melbourne pumping the Eels, Penrith pumping the Dragons. Broncos going down without a fight was a surprise, and Kevvie is in the hottest seat in town. Cowboys beat the depleted Sharks on the back of old man Feldt. Gold Coast scored 21 straight to beat the Dolphins. And the Raiders finally put to bed any talk of the Bunnies making late season waves.

Biggest stories from the weekend is how fucked teams are getting with concussions on outside backs absolutely wrecking them. Manly lost two outside backs to HIA on the weekend without the ability to activate their sub. Seibold went off in the presser, his ire at the Bunker Doctor who rubbed Garrick out without even being at the ground or inspecting him. Which is actually pretty fucked.
And Val Holmes has been told he's welcome to find a new home.
