NRL 2024

I’m surprised Barney didn’t kick, has kicked NRL goals and high on confidence. Not surprised about result though
-
Despite Canberra trying hard to give us a win, we still couldn't get it done.
Ugly game made close by two teams who ate both struggling. -

Some enjoyed it more than others

CHT misses again from the same side of the posts. He just looked devoid of confidence. Surely someone else could have kicked that? Three missed conversions may cost us the points
Feel sorry for him, his confidence was gone by the time he got the relatively easy one.
Surely that's the season gone ...
No way. He completely bottled it. His approach was poor. Then he rushed the kick and didn’t even do a proper follow through.
Just pretend he's a cantab and then you'll feel empathy.
But seriously, he's not a full time kicker thrust in to the role in a tight game, yeah he bottled it but doesn't mean he should be strung up by his ankles.

what did we learn this weekend?
The Warriors are cursed this season. The Raiders are going nowhere, and the rest of the comp should be stoked they keep extended Sticky.
Parra might be cooked, but they are not West Tigers cooked.
Brisbane aren't dead, just mortally wounded. Newcastle are though.
Melbourne will not fucking die. Ever. Can Bellamy just retire already? The Roosters are slightly fraudulent.
Penrith are never fucking dead, and i still think they beat Melbourne in the GF.
Manly humped the Gold Coast which would be hard to believe if you only watched the first 20-odd minutes like i did.
Deardon is amazing. The Origin period is now over, and it's all about the run to finals. Of those currently outside the 8, maybe Brisbane can get in as they at least have a positive points diff. Canberra being a win and 150-off points out is surely too far for them

@mariner4life Pretty accurate, just a weird season for some teams
but for Penrith and Melbourne business as usual

early reports out of Eels land are interesting.
Unsurprisingly Jason Ryles will not be retaining the services of Trent Barrett, who has to find another club to drag to a spoon.
But the sort of surprising one is King Gutho's time as the Eels fullback looks like it is coming to an end -

RCG also leaving
no surprises on TBaz though

no pressure, Raiders v Warriors in Vegas to be on free to air channel of potential 125 million viewers. Not a bad result for the NRL
-
they clearly did not watch the game on the weekend before signing off on that.
