Threw the pass where we scored in the corner didn't he?
Yeah but apart from the drains, the roads, the law enforcement, ...
the drains could have drained better.

Intrigued to see people talking about Jordie. I thought he had an absolute shocker, and was one of our worst.
He had to pack down on the side of the scrum for most of the game. Hard to shine in those circumstances
It was more his distribution. Think there was a couple of knock ons and a forward pass.

Many players had off days, especially in the backs

Jordie set a pretty high bar after his close to MOTM performances against Ireland and Argentina.
“defenders beaten”, one of the more meaningless stats in all of a rugby when analysing a performance. One half decent run could have you beating 3 or 4 players…
I thought Jordie struggled at times and there were several others that played better.

Must confess I'm confused by the Mo and JB love, both had a number of errors balanced out with their good stuff.
You could say the same about the locks. Lineout was fucking awful for 20 minutes or so. Scooter makes the calls doesn't he? The movement was like pinball and seemed counterproductive. Much better when we decided to revert to basics.

yeah that was awful to start and appeared to cost us at least 2 lineouts in prime attacking position, and then of course the sliding doors about the red card had we managed to get points off one of them.

Telea, Savea, Tight-5
My personal gripe with the Barrett backs division is their tendency to hesitate once they're on the ball (in unstructured play). It makes it difficult for others to play instinctually off them since they chew up valuable milliseconds and put their own team-mates in two-minds about what their intention is.
On the rare occasion it pays off (BB chip n chase vs Ireland) but too often it ends up in a crap-shoot (e.g. JB knock-on after getting whacked by Du Toit while he considered his options) and our momentum dies in an instant.

Interesting, DMac seemed to have the same problem but has lessened it, do you think JB can as well?

@nostrildamus I'm hopeful JB can given how physically gifted he is. It just feels like a curse they carry around due to being so damn competitive
To me, it's like they feel they HAVE to be the one to make the big play out of nothing (hence BB's "golden balls" moniker courtesy of Shag) but the team would be better served if they let the ball go earlier or played in the moment vs trying to get too many steps ahead.
The movements at 00:55s (JB hesitation) and 01.59s (BB hesitation) of this clip are perfect examples...
