I mostly lurk. Sometimes post. Wanted to get this down before Saturday's collision:
As an SA supporter, there is no other team I'd rather play and beat in a World Cup Final than the All Blacks. Short of that, there is not other team I'd rather lose to. I've followed ABs ups and downs under Foster, but always always thought that the reports of their death as a force to be reckoned with was way overdone. I am not at all surprised to see them in the final. Just as I am not surprised to see the Boks there.
There seems to be a genuine dislike in some quarters of the SA rugby game, coaches, players. All I can say to that is that when you look at the actual players on the field this weekend, there seems to be only respect and in some cases genuine camaraderie and friendships. So I let the guys at the sharp end guide me on that front. These are two fantastic teams with very different styles that should give us a great game.
Boks are gearing up for an attritional game in wet weather and relying on a second pack to come in and do the business. Simple fact is that the replacement tight five is of starting quality. ABs can't match that. However, they can negate the impact of the Bok plan due to exceptional game runners at 9 &10 and a rugby intelligence across the backline that is able to bring the rapier compared to the Bok sledgehammer.

To be honest, I hate this SA team, not every SA team, just this one. I could write a long long list of why, but deep down I think it's because they are good. Seriously good. Yes, they have weak links which hopefully we can exploit, but the list isn't that long.
I do genuinely hate all the time wasting, water runners, medic breaks, flashing lights, 35 minute front rowers etc, but if you can get away with it & win with it, then so what?
Regardless, if SA win, I'll be the first to put my hand up and say they deserve it. And I'll shake all the SA people I know hands and congratulate them and genuinely mean it.

I’ve never been a fan of the Boks. The team I love to hate. Because of that dislike I have tended to overlook some of their players when picking my favourite XV or my World XV. There’s only been a handful that I actually like such as Juan Smith, Pollard, Joost, JdV.
But I do respect what they have been able to achieve and the genuine passion they have for the great game.
I’m expecting either an absolute classic like the 2015 semi-final or the ABs to win by plenty 😉

I hope this happens on full time. Boks out on their feet, forces of evil deep in their own end, tap penalty, champagne rugby foiled by a magnificent cover tackle only for Cane to pull a Kronfeldesque rip and roll to score in the corner. The wind is swirling and the rain coming in 45 degree sheets. All eyes in the stadium turn to Beaudy who’s grimly determined to take the conversion. With no faffing he slots a dagger.
ABs lose by 1.

Colour me astonished there could be a man from Waikato called Nobbers who doesn't have (high/understandable/slightly sober) standards.
