    @sparky

    If they go for a 6/2 ALB is a certainty for the bench. Covers 12/13 well and it's interesting that he was on the wing at times during the last game

    @Machpants I love DMac. If either Richie or BB have a niggle, he’s straight in at 10 or 15. Definitely on standby for this one.

    Can I ask, without having to read back through the thread, why we're going 6/2? We're not Saffas.

    @Duluth Against Argentina, I want as much attacking threat out wide as possible. They can close up and leave a gap out there.

    Against England or SA, ALB’s a certainty for the bench.

    @Nepia

    Two reasons for me:

    1. Maintains forwards dominance for 80 minutes.

    2. Means one fewer forward has to play the 80 minutes a week out from a probable final.

    We've had a 6/2 earlier this year

    It's just speculation. It might be an option to manage the workload of the pack. If things are going well we can get more of our elderly forwards off. It's only a 6 day turnaround and they had a huge workrate on the weekend

    Those seem silly reasons to me. We maintained forward dominance for 84 minutes against a superior pack this week. Just throw Ta$man Jesus in there if we want to rest players.

    Also, you claim above you want as much attacking threat out wide as possible, but a 6/2 heavily reduces that if we have some ill timed injuries or poor form on the day.

    Anyway, that's just my thoughts on the matter.

    Sure, but if it is tight and the adrenaline is pumping in a World Cup SF, not sure Smith will tire.

    Will a week be long enough to recover for a poss. Final in that case?

    Barring injury, I suspect Foster picks the exact same side other than Telea in for LF

    I'd prefer Roigard, but other than that, I'm agreement with him.

    It'll be very hard to get back up against Arg see last cup vs England, then eng vs SA.

    I think the fact that many of the players and some of the coaching staff have been there before will maybe help. Seems to be a lot of messaging coming out they are aware of falling off and need to get themselves up again straight after an epic win.

    You'd hope so, especially after all the talk of the Ire game being the final

    @mariner4life Yeah, our greatest rivals winning. Fuck that. The team I take beating with a little soupcon of extra pleasure

    But seriously, If we get to the final, play our socks off and the Bokke beat us then I'll grudgingly accept it considering the journey we've been on in recent years. Sure, Rassie's a cockwomble but they are a bloody good team, led by a class bloke with minimal whinging.

    @voodoo I'd maybe swap BR and SW about, add Telea and that's about it.

    But bench probably more important this week, I know we shouldn't be getting ahead of ourselves, but if we do get to the final, we will need.some gas.

    @MN5

    I can’t believe that with all of the times we have been tripped up by a less favoured side, we still have people saying we should test players for the final.

    Have we learned nothing?😂

    Yeah but apparently Ethan Blackadder can walk into the team whenever he feels like it according to some on here.

    I still remember us having to tough it out against the Argies in 2011. Piri had to bail us out that day

    @DaGrubster

    I think the issue is more about how we manage the A team workload so they are in the best shape for a possible final - particularly Smith - rather than testing players for the final.

    Can't see the XV changing much, but there may be a few bench changes
