The French were able to make huge in-roads through that SA defense all game, the problem was all the passing and offloads they kept running out of support, and lost ruck ball, either to turnover, or a panicked presentation that got knocked through.
Even that last possession they got off their line, made 60m easy, then one guy got isolated and tried to throw it back, South Africa pounced.
....pounced from an offside position
Agree about the French attack. It's great to watch them open opposition defences up but then frustrating as hell to see them not finish it off.
Yep, nothing worse than opening them up and not finishing it off.
Youβre talking about Rugby right ?
Of course been a long time since I opened anything up to be honest.
That's sad, you should read more. We're talking about books, right

The Springboks bench made the difference except Faf who has been shocking. Fourie and Kwagga fight like dogs on defense and breakdowns, triple trouble with Vermeulen. Pollard but the real stars was our starting backline specially Libbok. He brought a new dimension to our attack. Hard luck to France, beating them in front of 80,000 mean the Springboks mean business.

What has happened to Faf? it was a clear drop in performance when he came on.

@game_film he was a bit quiet, a few times early on he looked a bit shy on taking contact, built into it and got.into.some physical stuff but you do wonder if it was wise to play him so soon.

Well, that game did no good whatsoever for my health.
First half was just crazy.
Second half so bloody intense.Well done Boks. Getting past that French team, in France, with their crowd support, is quite an achievement. Very proud.
And before anyone gets too far ahead of themselves, I really hope we focus exclusively on the semi against England for now. We saw what they managed to do in the semifinal at the last RWC. Best the Boks are on their toes.

Kolbe is just a magician. DDA and Kriel also great game. what a weekend of rugby.
-
DDA gets a bit of grief on here but i think he's fantastic. He gave the Irish midfield kittens, he was huge today as well. That try was good fucking work.
Jodie Barrett is effectively lanky DDA and yet he's loved. -

@chimoaus and a Waikato/Chiefs supporter.
He allow the game to flow. Ruck more of a battle. The NH refs is much more strict and technical at ruck time.
The replacement for Marx (Fourie) is a specialist poacher.
like for like then!

Oh and the ref has been great.
Yup I was cheering France and BOK was fine. The French choked, they didn't have calmness at all- especially under pressure. Kwagga was a game-changer
Kwagga cracks me up- he looks like the Boks were a man short for the match so they just grabbed some oke off his farm on the way to the ground. No emotion, just rips in and gets shit done.
