We should have lost the Bledisloe two years ago but thanks to Bernard Foley taking his time
And Raynal deciding to penalise rather than blow time off.
And of course deciding that Swains dog act didn't get the red card it deserved, so sliding doors etc?
Stick it on the list with Underarm
Mate I would, but I was actually watching watching both games on TV, I didn't know that the underarm was even particularly wrong until the commentators went crook, and besides was the best thing that ever happened to NZ cricket.
When I saw what Swain had done, was the angriest I have been at something like that for years, I saw it for what it was a shit act designed to injure someone, and a RC everyday of the week!!! -

Awful by the Wallabies. Feel sorry for them. The rushed Eddie Jones appointment was always going to be a disaster. The man is a chancer, an opportunist and a troll. He’s only ever in it for himself. And by deliberately leaving his leaders and more experienced players like Hooper and Cooper at home, he has destroyed the confidence of another generation of players and kicked the corpse of Australian rugby while pocketing the cash. A disgraceful individual.
For the All Blacks, the truth is that New Zealand’s deterioration is directly related to the demise of the game in Australia. Losing South Africa in Super Rugby and leaving our teams to play lopsided flat-track bully games against weak Australian sides has de-powered them. Both NZ and Australia suffer from huge discipline issues and that’s clearly related.
With all the money and talent and broadcast dollars drifting to the northern hemisphere, it’s hard not to think that under Robertson’s regime the NZR will drop the overseas players ban completely.
It’s not about you ffs
If Oz are so shit you should have beaten them by the same margin

I must admit I found myself with a very hollow feeling after watching the Wallabies capitulate against the Welsh this morning , a very very sad day for Rugby in this region , I felt for their supporters and the family’s of the players
Can’t believe some vitriol from some quarters as if our Rugby is on solid ground .
We need a strong Australian side , personally I think the Wallabies would under Dave Rennie despite the results we’re making progress.
It was only a year ago , the Wallabies should beaten France , lost to Ireland by 3 and beat Wales
For me it was a monumental mistake changing their coach this close to the RWC that’s on Rugby Australia
Seems as though there’s a real old boys network from a certain era with to much to say , it was interesting listening to the post match comments especially from that muppet Justin Harrison who refused to acknowledge Dave Rennie’s contribution..that told me somethingI’m actually really surprised going through Social Media at the relative lack of dickhead comments that always come out from kiwis when Australians lose something.
I mean, of course there is SOME, but on the whole things are pretty respectful.
The last time I laughed at Australia crashing out of a RWC was in 2007.
Nek minnit!
I'm suppressing any little surges of schaudenfreude.

SBW has been far better since taking him off in game comments and have him give his thoughts before, halftime and after the game.
Jesus Christ
Good player, but a 10 year old would have more insight

I reckon you're being unduly generous to him.Obviously they were going to ask about Japan - it's a big story. If it's not true, then he could have just clearly denied it and said he wasn't going to take any more questions on it. Instead he tried to sidestep it with a weird "I dunno what you're talking about mate" answer. Twice. That just sounded shifty and made everyone think there's something there.
If it's not true, just clearly say so. If it is true, well then he deserves all the grief he gets.
I think I am too. But two things here
- I know he's a good coach.
- Having met him, I know he's a pretty decent straight up guy too.
If I was Aussie, I'd be doing all I could to get Chieka back.
Are you fucking insane?

Hot takes as the kids say
We don’t make the SF is a massive downer
Fiji are one RC from coming 3rd and Australia going through

@NTA I thought the play of the Wallabies in first half was very good, but it showed that they lacked a bit of class and showed some inexperience to finish off the opportunities they created.
Wales didn’t do much wrong or do anything earth shattering either, but importantly kept the scoreboard ticking over.
Come the second half and the wheels defensively really fell off for the Wallabies. Some strange alignments and then a lack of urgency (or fitness) to reset and get back into position.
Wales made them pay and also put in some very nice interplay to once again keep the scoreboard ticking over.
An excellent win for Wales in a pressure must win game.
Looking a little into the future, the Lions build up for Eddie is going to be a pretty rocky road ahead…

Its now Super rugby's fault ..... I for one partially agree - Aussie simply has too many teams -- spreads the talent to thinly ...
I feel for Hooper standing there... poor bastard - but he spoken well and appears to be a solid bloke - he really must have taken a big steamy dump in Eddies weet a bix....
And what happens in week 2 when Hooper gets busted / has a meltdown
Correct decision to leave him at home
For his own sake
Nah, I disagree Mike - his experience would have been invaluable as a reserve or squaddie. His head is fine, he wouldn't have put his hand up for selection if it wasn't - and it wasn't because of his injury that he got left behind, it was Eddie being stubborn and wanting to carve his own path. Massive error of judgement from Eddie, and his interview blaming Hooper and others for perceived poor culture was an absolute disgrace.

Anyway, I'm not done being a masochist so I'll go watch the second half.
Yep. Pretty much what everyone said: we let Wales pretty much do what they want. Which wasn't much, but when you're 100% passive these things will happen.

I'm told that the training load was anywhere up to 50% higher than other teams. Make of that what you will, but we just did not have any energy in that second half.
We looked leaderless, and Porecki has to take some of that blame, but there were other senior players out there that could have stepped up as well. I don't even know who was captain when he went off.
We looked like we were on the plane after Wales' second try - and where the fuck was Kellaway or Tate to take that kick through?
I'll say it: we were defending like fucking leaguies. Everything about our alignment showed that.
At one stage Kellaway had to chase a kick, and after he got up he was frantically waving for someone to drop back. Why? That shit should be organic.

@MiketheSnow I don’t expect many to agree with me - it’s why I posted it.
Feel free to rebut my points with reasons, maybe I’ll find I agree.

Unable to take advantage/ make the necessary changes against a 14-man England
Got absolutely smashed
That’s poor coaching, and not someone I would be pinning my hopes on

Yeah crazy stuff, OK to go for a reset but you still need some experience, even if they are not in the top 23

Maybe it's my failing memory but doesn't Eddie have a reputation for flogging his players with training?

Yeah but so does Gatland
-
Yeah, Gatland's fitness training is notoriously tough, and it has shown - in a good way. Wales have won a lot of matches during his tenure(s) by finishing stronger in the last 20.
Perhaps he's better than Eddie at judging the recovery needed before match day. Or maybe better at the man management needed to get the players to accept the pain as a good thing because of the rewards.
