Waikato vs Wellington
-
@Stargazer that’s never nice to hear.
-
@Canes4life been told hes 123-125 kg apparently
-
@Stargazer we can all take a breath ,played at an outstanding pace
Some superb tries scored ,a couple of gimmies and some very good individual performances
Simon Parker very good in a losing team
Just signed another 3 year deal with the Chiefs
Well done Wellington ,they roll on -
@BerhamporeNinja wow, must be mostly muscle. It’s definitely showing in his carry. Very hard player to put down that’s for sure.
Du Plessis Kirifi not happy with that win. Just shows you the standards Wellington have these days. Hopefully he’s the Canes captain, seems to be a pretty ruthless character.
-
@Canes4life still abit erratic in his decision making on attack, he tends to want to run as apposed to looking at opportunities prior. Definitely one of his better games
-
@Steven-Harris yeah he was outstanding. Definitely stopped a lot of Wellington’s momentum at the breakdown.
-
@Canes4life yup what we need. Demands and commands one hundy all day everyday I wonder if he will be captain 🤔
-
@Canes4life hes quite a unit ,gotta say Wellington are playing the game at pace and with some power in the forwards.
They are a good watch -
@BerhamporeNinja I can’t think of anyone else that would suit captain in that likely starting side. Maybe Flanders in the future but Du Plessis right now for me.
-
@Steven-Harris 100%, the good thing for the Lions before they play that next Shield game against Harbour is that it’s 8 days away so they can have a good rest after a pretty hectic schedule lately.

Just signed another 3 year deal with the ChiefsParker has had a terrible couple of years with injury so it has been great to see him playing each week.

This will be an interesting decision made by this new coach. It will show how he operates. And it will only be for one year.
Kirifi is one proven option. It seems to have grown up a lot recently. Shields is another. Past captain and in great form And co-captains is another option.

I don't want the next Hurricanes captain to be Shields, because then he gets to start at 6 every bloody game.
Captain doesn't need to start every game. Esp one who isn't as young as he once was.
