RWC Week 1: England v Argentina

@MajorRage Pretty different in my book. Not even 7030... Just Dire. Raynal is either inept or bought…
-
I thought the ref was appalling, and the Poms played to his 'interpretations' better: that interpretation largely being that tacklers actually don't need to release the ball carrier.
There's nobody to blame but yourselves when you lose that badly to a 14 man team though. -

@NTA That's generally how games are won...
I just hope any draws are decided by number of tries scored

Fucking class display from the English though, completely shutting Argentina down after the early red was very impressive. If they play like that they'll give anyone a run. Very hard to break down and the way Ford is striking it he becomes a real threat come the knock out stages.

I applaud. Stops said English fans going out during the match and blocking the view.
-
@ACT-Crusader They will kick even more drop goals. Not much the rush defence can do against that tactic.
-
One thing I noted is that when England put up the bomb, they just wanted to cause chaos - get beyond the ball and it is very hard for a defender to get a clear run at a jumping catch. Usual result was a knock on one way or the other and another set piece suited them just fine.

The Argies gave Ford way too much time and space to kick them, even the ones he wasn’t that deep in the pocket. He will still have to vary his depth because England still like to commit numbers.

@Machpants hope they got rid of Farrells teachers...

Finally got around to catching up on this game with all the travel. That first half by Ford was magnificent. Deserved RC against Curry. Argentina were abjectly shithouse.

I see @stodders has mentioned Bokke have been doing this.
But more to the point England have too.
I recall Kafer making that comment about England in 2011. They just throw a man up at the ball and if it's knocked on good.

@Machpants build the game where? I support WR stopping him from making videos.
