RWC Week 1: France v All Blacks

Big challenge for Ryan tomorrow. His forwards have been very poor in the last two games. Are we finally going to see some connection between ball carriers and cleaners?
I’m less concerned about the forwards and more concerned about the likes of ALB throwing intercepts and rushing out of the line. Have him and Ioane ever met before….

Intercepts featured in both the Boks friendly and the last French match.

@ACT-Crusader Maybe they have started one test together as 12 and 13?

Yeah it was the loss to Ireland in Dublin 2021

You can tell everyone is nervous about this game.
This thread is a tough read
I feel less enthusiastic about the start of this RWC as any one. Ever. Another thing Fozzie has taken from me. fluffybunny
Suggest you don’t watch. You aren’t enthusiastic and want foster to lose so he doesn’t have a legacy to his name. Even if no one thinks foster is a great coach I’d still take the win thanks.
Well fuck me, another visit from the thought police. I'm sure I'll be fine once the games start. And the Fozz statement was glib. Mainly...

You need a chill pill. And cheer up!

Funny, that's what I was thinking about you and Dan. Just because I feel a certain way that isn't consistent with your own view, no need to tell me that I'm wrong

I am pumped for this game.
Jaco Peyper ref - bit more of a known quantity to many of the ABs - and usually pretty good.
My main concern is #3 and the combined loose trio - individually 6 7 8 are good players.... just not convinced of the mix of all them at once - bit like Aussie ideas a few years back....
All that said 1st 20mins of the game will be key - hope we have accuracy and urgency in equal measures.
GO THE ABs

I absolutely agree we need to start well. I'm not sure we have the ability to dig ourselves out of a hole

I think one thing that hasn’t been mentioned is the pressure on France. Disappointment after disappointment at RWC’s. Jekyll and Hyde type form within the same Cup campaign.
That is a good point - I can't help but think that a wily old coach like Eddie or Hansen would have been doing their darndest to help"all the pressure is on France" to the international (and French!) media!

Havili excels in both of those.

The Economist writing the ABs’ obituary today.
This is good I refer to Simon Barnes c.2004 ...

They're like clockwork, runners up every 12...
And SA only win every 12 years so ..
