Otago v Wellington

We played like we already had a bonus point in that last 15. I wonder if Kirifi thought we already had it?
Wellington need to be more ruthless. Plenty of pill over the last two weeks but only four tries to show for it. Defending has been superb though.

@Winger was a good piece of unexpected skill in that moment that you don’t always expect from a lock .

@foobaNZ yeah a bit of a concern. What I’ve really been impressed with is the defence though, we’ve maintained that intensity from last season which is great.
This will be our best team for a while (aside from Bird) until Aumua, Savea and potentially Perenara come back.
We’ve got the storm week coming up next so it will be interesting to see how they manage the squad. We’ve got Southland first up, Ta$man Wednesday and then Canterbury. We definitely need our strongest side for Ta$man.

A few players that stood out for me in this game were Lauaki, Shields, Kirifi and Lakai. The loose forward trio for the Lions is very well balanced and they were at the forefront of that physical approach on defence.
In the backs Love had a few nice touches but we really need to get him the ball more. He made a few clean line breaks but unfortunately neither lead to tries scored.
For Otago, Jona Nareki was a danger almost every time he touched the ball and Josh Dickson really stood out in that pack.

@Stargazer this is gold aye. I could be wrong but I think Peter has had the better of Thomas in all the games they've faced each other in professionally. I wonder if we'll ever see them on the same side again.
