Rugby World Cup 2023: The 33-man squads for every team in France

Ireland have named their squad. Cian Healy, longtime prop, and occasional star hooker, is not in it.
However, it has meant that another foreigner gets into the squad.
USA - Loughman, McCarthy
New Zealand - Lowe, Gibson-Park, Aki
Australia - Hansen, Bealham
SA - HerringBit disappointing that SA only managed to get one player into the squad despite their heavy involvement in Irish rugby over the last few years.
All the decent ones chose to play on the wing for Scotland and who can blame them

Yeah with his gingery hair, you could say it’s a red herring.
To be shore, to be shore.

Posted for the article, but one of the replies was too funny to leave out.
Fkn cheats
Hosts France and defending champions South Africa were among those to go with a 19/15 split while the No1-ranked Ireland and New Zealand felt an 18/15 divide was best for them.

Question for the brain’s trust here: What is Fozzie’s rationale for sticking with five wingers and being underpowered in the second row and loose forwards when the consequences of that are already evident? We know World Cups are forward-dominated grind-fests and that every time the ABs have come unstuck since 2019 it’s been due to Fozzy’s dogged insistence that the team try and run opponents off their feet. The old quote about the definition of insanity comes to mind.

Caleb Clarke has some compromising photos of Foster eating a salad.

Obviously I am not qualified to answer, but maybe he's not confident he can find powerful enough forwards and thinks his only change is, as you say, insanely, run them off their feet?

@nostrildamus Finau seems to have plenty of power, as did Gus from the Chiefs.

Yes
Did, being the key word for PGS. He was a real flash in the pan, and shouldn't have made the abs when he did.
-
I get that regards Gus but Finau looked promising and most like for like for SF, given Akira seems on the outer (but also plays 8-does Finau?)

No replacement named, yet.
Poor bastard
He was really growing into the role

Man some of the forward's weights are all over the place here.
Frizell listed as 188cm when he's 195cm according to all other sources, and Papali'i listed as only 104kg/191cm when he's 113kg/193cm on the Blues page, lol.
-
@kiwi_expat Dalton definitely doesn't look 113kg and 1.93m. If you compare him to someone similar to that like Brad Shields who's actually 2kg lighter at 111kg and 1.93m then those metrics for Dalton are definitely off. It's also suggesting he's the same height as Akira Ioane which going from quite a few pictures online he's doesn't seem to be.
104kg and 191cm is far more accurate IMO.

Stats on the AB site look about right. Although they have Shannon too light
-
@Canes4life Haha, there's no way Dalton is 104kg. Tom Christie is 105kg and he looks miniscule compared to the Blues & Chiefs loosies. Dalton also has the jacked Polynesian genetics, look at his upper body, size of his torso & shoulders, he's definitely carrying a lot up top.
-
@kiwi_expat yeah he's definitely bigger than Christie, but then again Christie doesn't look 105kg either.
If I had to guess looking at Dalton he'd be around 110kg, 1.91m.
