AB RWC Squad

Interesting is the squad makeup and who missed out.
-
An extra wing and just five loose forwards is pretty bizarre - but other than that, it's pretty much as expected. I thought Moody would likely make it, so interested to hear if he's close to fit.
On The Breakdown Laura McGoldrick says, five loose forwards, does that mean Scott Barrett will play some games at 6. The expert analysts all howl "no". I'd say that's exactly what's in the offing, Laura.

So who missed from the current 35, Finau and ?

I watched Retallick walking up on stage, and there was no sign of limp or anything, so maybe he's fit now? I know press has said he out for 4 weeks or whatever, but they work under a lot of guesswork anyway.
Brodie said he will miss 3 games at worst just now

@kiwiinmelb Ennor?

Surprised they went for LF over another loosie
Not sure why people were mentioning Clarke. He was clearly in their plans having played 13 of the last 14 Test matches
Also thought Narawa might have been the unlucky one given the niggly injury
I think in the end they couldn’t choose between Leicester F and Narawa so they pulled a loose forward.

Just saw that, he said up to 3, which I was suprised at.

Smells like an undercooked Brodie going into a knock out game.
No “learnings” from 2019?

Yeah - I thought it was probably Leicester vs Narawa - and they've taken both.
Christie for the same reason. Would have been bizarre selecting to invest so much in him and then discard him at the last post for a guy they'd given 15 minutes of the bench or a guy they've not really picked for 2 years.

I remember when they picked the 2015 squad we were freaking out they picked nms and an injured Naholo (both rookies) and left out the experience of dagg
-
My only criticism is the mix. Seems foolhardy to have too many outside backs and not enough loosies. Havili and ioane also cover outsides if desperate.
-
I’m really surprised Narawa made it. Not that he’s a bad player but the body of work is so minimal.
