You are correct they didn't do anything, but over 120 minutes there were the far superior team.
They won the possession and territory match
But as we all know that means fuck all
Think England were far more prepared for a penalty shootout too
I'd have swapped the order of the Nigerian takers and put money in the bank early

Fair enough but the crossbar notwithstanding and a couple of great saves, they were wayward or ineffectual shots

Saw some headlines about the Aus game on the TV screens at the gym this morning. "Crucial goals scored by (insert the 2 players who scored goals)"
Isn't that a really weird way to word it?

in the commentary it was worse. After Aus went 1-0 the main commentator said something super inane like "Australia scoring first, just the way they would have planned it"
um, yeah mate, that's generally how sport works.
