2023-2024 World Sevens Series

More injuries. Rokolisoa will be a huge loss. Cook-Savage will need to step up.
This weekend the fifth leg of SVNS is held in Los Angeles. The All Blacks Sevens are the defending champions and are grouped with Australia, Samoa, and the hosts USA. Unfortunately, Tim Mikkelson (hamstring), Leroy Carter (hamstring), and Akuila Rokolisoa (hip) are out injured for New Zealand. Jayden Keelan is likely to debut and Andrew Knewstubb will play his first tournament in two years.

The BF7s had a comfortable 41-5 win over SA.
The AB7s have just lost 24-17 to Aust. Another poor performance. Dickson gets a YC in the 1st min for a leg trip and then Fineanganofo gets a RC for a head-on-head tackle in the 2nd half. NZ scored at the end to make the final score closer.

Who would;ve picked a northern sweep for the semi's -
Ireland, GBR, France and Spain! -
Hmm. That interview with Tomasi Cama said it all for me. He seemed to be on another planet. His selections defy logic.
Webber and Curry were forced to do too much, but gave 100%. Solo, Cook Savage and Fineanganofo saw little game time but show more threat and play making smarts than others.
Rush is a good link player but no creator. Vai is a good attacker but needs big big improvements in ball retention and defence. And Clark, well I just expect a whole lot more accuracy and work rate.
It really reinforces just how much Rokolisoa, Carter, MGB and Mikkelsen add.
Knewstubb was good for first tournament back but not at his best yet.
Just can't fathom what the plan is from Cama though. -
I wasn't surprised to see that the men crashed and burned again. The fact that Dickson, as captain, plays the full game and adds nothing proves that the problems start with selection.
I can't believe that the lack of pace from the 30+ yr olds isn't so obvious to Cama and co.
