I see the BF7s lost 12 - 24 to France in the SF, and then beat the USA 19 - 7 to claim bronze.
The AB7s beat South Africa 31 - 7 and finished 5th.
Very disappointing. I hope both teams will improve a lot during the season and come right before the Olympics.
The Aussie women won gold again, beating France 29 - 26 in the Final.
Argentina beat the Aussie men 45 - 12 in the Final, and Fiji took home bronze after defeating Ireland 14 - 7. -

Fucking Irish player comes flying over the top off his feet, lands on the wrong side and just ignored.
I think we found our new Rasta
Just prior to the third (I think) Irish try there was a ruck a few meters out from our line, just to the right of the posts. Ireland possession, ruck had formed (a couple of players from each side IIRC) Curry driving Irish player back, ball is beneath Irish in front of his feet so he just reached down and scoops it back with his hand. How is that legal? Ref was about 2m away and it was right in front of him, he was looking at it.
So what am I missing? What interpretation or law allowed him to do that? He couldn't lift leg to ruck it back because Curry was there, in fact he looked like he was tempted to dive on it, but probably would have been carded for cynical play.
Ref penalised for the something very similar in the second half. Was he just a "Rasta" or has my knowledge of the laws been left behind?
It's not unusual for refs to see something differently, but this was so blatant that it must be me.

I didn't see many of these games due to the time difference but the 1st half vs Ireland was the worst I've seen from the AB 7s team in a long time. Granted they didn't have much ball but the decision-making was really poor. I doubt there has been many tournaments when they've lost more games than they've won.

She will be a huge loss to the Black Ferns Sevens team.
Black Ferns sevens captain Sarah Hirini has undergone surgery for an ACL injury, putting her in a race against time to be fit for the Paris Olympics. Hirini injured her knee during the Dubai Sevens earlier this month and fears she would need surgery were confirmed once she got back to New Zealand.
