easy to ignore given the months leading up to it
Yes we lost to England, and that should have been a red flag, but that team at least had a destructive midfield. And there were enough "yeah but" moments to allow us to move smoothly on
Then they played insanely beautiful rugby stuffing the Boks and Wallabies away.
And then we won back the Bledisloe (that should have been the "wait on" game)
Then we romped through the Group and the Quarters (after a "scare" from Wales)Even the semi, if that early try is awarded we probably go on to win it.
The final is not a foregone conclusion even in hindsight. Goal kicking and field kicking would probably have been more of a factor than the England pack, that would have swallowed ours, but not exactly created a heap themselves. -

Jordan to fb might be a move they want to try , fozzie hinted at it before the last game

I still think Samisoni is our best hooker. That's the main change I'd make to what we're currently picking as our premier line up.
If impact needed off bench Sami is your man.

DMac - this year running straight and organising well, in previous years ran his team into trouble going sideways. Ergo his class (average*) versus form (excellent)?

They’re not being subtle, they’re going to take us on upfront, try to stop the AB gain line, flood the breakdown to mess up our ball. They’ve got the personnel to do it, will be interesting to watch.
Sounds similar to the game plan for RWC 03 Semi Final. That day he targeted Jerry Collins as he was the primary ball carrier. I wonder if Frizell is in for similar treatment on Saturday.
he was the ONLY ball carrier in the team. Nothing else in the pack, nothing in the backline. As physically an unimposing team as you can put together.
Roko whilst green had been a try scoring machine and beating defenders at will. Mils at centre and Rangi at fullback and I think that lineup plays better.

Turning this back to Eddie Jones one might well rather say: contracts are temporary. Being an arse is permanent.

We are getting close to a best team, whether it is good enough or not, not sure.
I’d probably prefer us to have a bit more from our props (looking at you Nepo) and I feel like our best squad likely has Williams and Ofa (TH) off the bench.
If we put Dmac on the bench, we’d have a nice balance where we only need to make one change for almost all positions (Dmac could even cover wing potentially).
Props and Hooker done
Lock: Done
Loosie: Done (Jacobson)
HB: Done
First five: Done (Dmac)
Midfield: Done (ALB)
FB: Done (Dmac)And, the bench should have some punch if we ran with that.
