All Blacks Vs Springboks RC Week 2
-
if that Bok side cant beat us, then they may as well not go to France....
-
Pretty happy with the team, I thought that there was going to be far more rotation in the front row and that Kriel would get another undeserved cap.
I'm still unsure about going into a test like this without recognized goalkicker in the starring 15, but hey what do I know.
Ps - fuck Jasper Wiese
-
This will be a key test of where both sides are. Should be a classic- pity it's not at EP
-
How the AB's handle the huge Bok 6 Forward bench might decide this. If they don't have it won by 60mins they might get steamrolled.
The weather forecast is for a fine day. -
This Springbok team look’s frightening especially given the underfoot conditions will be soft .can’t believe the ABs are $1.27 and the Boks are $3.70 head to head , there isn’t $2.43 between these 2 teams .
-
@SidBarret Wiese has been in great form. He improved a lot. he is going to test the defense.
-
All Blacks forwards coach Jason Ryan cleared Crusaders fullback Will Jordan, Blues wing Mark Telea and veteran lock Sam Whitelock from their respective aliments on Tuesday to insert the trio well in the frame to return against the Springboks at Mt Smart Stadium on Saturday.
Ryan rated Crusaders wing Leicester Fainga’anuku a 50/50 chance to feature after his calf issues since the Super Rugby final, which effectively rules him out this weekend. Crusaders prop Fletcher Newell has also suffered another setback after breaking his hand in a wrestling drill in Argentina with the All Blacks to sideline him for another three weeks.

NZ odds are always ridiculously optimistic of ABs chances

@Machpants it's also pretty safe, South Africa has a tiny betting market, so you need to give longer odds to get kiwis to bet against the All Blacks.
Even if the bookies thought it was really a 50/50 game, the odds would be shortened for New Zeland due to the relative betting volumes.
That said, $3 for the boks seem very tasty. Oz was paying $3.55 on the high veld last week.
-
One other thing that I really like about the Springbok side selected is that they won't panic if they go down a score or two. I sometimes feel other teams get psyched out when the All Black get a lead, but with this bench I can see South Africa staying in the fight

@SidBarret My money as safety bet is already on the Boks
With the usual pattern of one good game followed by a crap one, you're wise. Be ultra-happy if we win, but a close loss could be progress of sorts against what looks to be a very, very good Bokke side.

He said that wasn't the best SA team before the match
When questioned how he felt Australia would have gone against the A team he spat his dummy, saying the journalist was being a smart arse -
@MiketheSnow Eddie should have just taken it onto the chin and said something like "yeah mate, that came back to bite me, didn't it, mate? Obviously their squad depth is superb, mate, and I guess I learned to shut my big ol' mouth next time, mate. Mate"
