I’m beginning to see what you mean about Tubby behind the mic. He seems to have found his groove now and is beginning to grate a little.
Less is more Tubby. Less is more.
I like Tubs in the commentary box. Ponting and Atherton are great together too.
I’m not sure we have this generations Richie Benaud quite yet but there’s a terrific balance between playful banter, great calling and informative analysis.

Some good bowling by England but fuck me some ordinary shots by Australia. Head and Carey should lose their match fee. Or at least give it to Murphy.
Very lucky Bairstow isn't a good keeper or we'd trail by a lot in this innings.
Time to bar up with the ball, chaps. We know what works: line and length. Funny that.

Some rain around tomorrow but nothing like the Old Trafford downpour. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/gcpuvk7px#?date=2023-07-30
Root and Stokes with a 50 partnership. 193/2. Lead of 181 at drinks.

Australia will be happy with 2-2
I mean at this point they have no option. Be out for under 300
Yep, the away-from-home passengers in Australia's top and middle order have been exposed as the series has gone on. Will be a genuine surprise (and a top effort) if they manage a series win from here.

Great effort England for walking the talk after some bullshit in the first couple of tests.
It sux that the weather has played such a part.
Australia need a massive performance to save this test. They have the cattle to do it though, fascinating day in store
I see Stuart Broad has announced his retirement. All the talk of Anderson and his longevity…..it’s easy to forget this guy has been around for donkeys years. I remember him as a really fresh faced ( but tall when you stand next to him at the pub ) bloke who toured here just before my 15 year old son was born.I would never have guessed he’d have this kind of career…..hats off. Incredible stuff.
As a funny quirk of fate he dismissed his coach TEN times at test level apparently !
