Great toss for England to win.
Think Starc is the right call, on about a 55/45 balance. Boland is brilliant, but a fraction predictable for Bazball.
Kevin Pietersen rings the bell for the start of the day at Lords.
How good would he have been in the Bazball era ? Terrific player.
Was at a winter coaching session on Sunday afternoon. Long story short, the model the particular pull shot technique was based on was Kevin Pietersen.
Yeah I can’t think of anyone who made batting look more beautiful than KP
Mark Waugh called...
Best late cutter of the game.

Good call. Both were sensational to watch

Australia are dominating.
For the English Tongue looks useful.
The deliveries that jagged back to get Waj and Warner were very good

Absolutely no surprise at all that one of Smith or Labuschagne would get amongst the runs in this test. Enthralling day ahead, I’ll try and stay awake to watch more tonight !
I recommend staying up just to see Broad's "are you kidding?" face when DRS doesn't agree with him

Jeez you'd take 5/340 after losing the toss and being sent in.
But credit to England, it was only because of their wayward bowling and dropped catches that Australia were able to score. So they should be feeling really positive about how everything transpired.

Lamest I've seen them play since pre McCullum. A couple of decent balls aside, Australia made it look easy.
Certainly a combination of some great Australian play & terrible English bowling out there.
Huge rain over night (thank god, finally) and its' really muggy this morning, so the ball should be doing a lot today. Could be a very interesting session today. I won't be too surprised if we see Australia batting at the end of today in their second innings.

Aus on top currently but Cam Green keeping us in the hunt. How many NBs?
Great catch by Smith to get rid of Root. I thought for a moment he might have grassed it, and it was close, but in the end a fair catch.

Listening to the expert comms today, specifically Vaughan and Tuffers, it was a bit of a wank fest about how things should be done. It’s like their agenda has been waiting for the moment that they could say “I told you so “. One moment they are crapping on about England throwing it away, the next praising Aus for their tactical approach with the short stuff.
OK guys, Aus on top at that time but make up your mind about why.
