Ashes 2023

Dropped catches, a missed stumping and lots of no balls. England missed their chances on the afternoon of Dsy 2 and have squandered whatever advantage they had in this Test. It's still going to be hard-fought but Australia in the ascendancy heading into Day 3.

@Catogrande He got the Smith wicket but was poor apart from that. England will need more out of Robinson and Anderson.

Australia will have to bowl a lot smarter with the new ball. Hopefully they learned something in the first innings.
On reflection, leaving Starc out was the right decision - he isn't consistent enough for this type of pitch.

Massive luxury leaving a player of his class out, it’s like the Black Caps leaving Wags out.
Oh……

Not much between these teams, but Australia have the luxury of rotating the squad a bit.
You reckon ? I think Australia are far better man for man but England are playing some seriously inspired cricket under McCullum.

Moeen Ali got a fine
Ali was found to have breached Article 2.20 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to displaying conduct that is contrary to the spirit of the game. In addition to this, one demerit point has been added to Ali’s disciplinary record, for whom it was the first offence in a 24-month period. The incident occurred in the 89th over of Australia’s innings, when Ali sprayed a drying agent on his bowling hand at the boundary line before coming on to bowl the next over, thus defying the umpires’ pre-series instructions about not using anything on their hands without prior approval.
