I'm interested to see what he does in the youth player development space alongside Kane Jury. We need those up and comers.

I think it's a lot more full time than what Boyd did. Was my understanding he was more of a consultancy role.

Probably chilling at home in Wellington. I doubt he will still be on staff with Joseph in this role.

The role involves leading the entire Highlanders rugby programme, including recruitment and retention of players, supporting the coaching group and mentoring the Head Coach.as i say, dont get me wrong, very glad to have him back in the fold...that just all feels a little vague or stuff that should have already been covered, i dont think we're rolling in enough cash to have anyone on the books that dont have concrete roles and KPI's
part of me wondered if it a way of keeping him around if dermody doesn't improve on last year

I don't think we can judge Dermody on the last couple of years. His squad was terrible. Not saying next year's is a world beater. Just a decent improvement.
I highly doubt Joseph will want to be the BAU coach again at this level. Looks like he is happy to be back in Dunedin around his family and the Mornington Tavern. Highly likely he sits in the coaches box at games. This is a team that does need a decent sized academy. Will be fascinating to see how he can support the bringing of players and retention of players in the region.
