Highlanders 2024

@SouthernMann The announcement caught me off guard, because at first I thought it was going to say they were leaving. Pleased they are now revealing contract lengths though.
-
Just good safe players to keep in the group. Will be interesting to see how Renton v Sanders go in the no8 battle. Or whether Broughton will have a stormer for BoP and put himself into contention.
-
Glad to have him back involved…but what’s the remit of head of rugby, recruitment?
-
@Kiwiwomble will have a huge role in mentoring/overseeing Dermody i would say.
Great to have quality coaching IP back in NZ.

If you read the article, seems to me he is going to be doing a massive role - taking the jobs of 2.5 I'd think.

Yep to quote the article
The role involves leading the entire Highlanders rugby programme, including recruitment and retention of players, supporting the coaching group and mentoring the Head Coach.

Does this mean more quality signings?
We only have two spots to fill. A midfield back and a hooker for 2024. For years to come? Probably.
-
I'm interested to see what he does in the youth player development space alongside Kane Jury. We need those up and comers.
-
-
I think it's a lot more full time than what Boyd did. Was my understanding he was more of a consultancy role.
-
@SouthernMann What will Boyd's position be in 2024?
