QF: Brumbies v Hurricanes
-
@Crucial it's not hard to predict what the Brumbies are going to bring. They are going to use JD to play for territory and then they are going to try and put us under pressure defensively in our own half.
The main thing we can't do is go into our shells. We have to hold onto possession and slowly chip away at the Brumbies line. The Hurricanes are the best attacking team in the comp so cracks will appear eventually, we just have to be PATIENT, along with employing a smarter kicking game than we have in previous weeks and obviously nullifying their strengths in the red zone.
This game could go either way which is exciting, I just hope our season doesn't end in Canberra for the third year running.
I'm picking the Canes to edge it by 6 points because our bench looks a lot stronger than theirs.

Are the Hurricanes really the best attacking team in the competition (at least in any way that points to future success)? Take out their two floggings of Moana and all the metres, linebreaks and points they accumulated in those two matches and I suspect their attacking stats would look decidedly average this year.
Maybe it's a moot point, but I think the Hurricanes' attack has actually taken a step down this year compared to seasons gone.
-
Purely on the basis that the law of averages and what history tells you, we won't see all four Kiwi teams in the semis, so sorry Hurricanes fans... Brumbies will be right up for it at home, and I see them having too much across the park.
That said, I've sucked at picking this year so what would I know.

@Canes4life for what it’s worth I have the Canes at 1-8 as well.
Just think the Brumbies are a bit too predictable. Although that was shown up by the Chiefs so Larkham may have a few other plans thrown in -

Multiple attempts to reverse jinx....
Not at all.
FUCK the Ponies.

God help me, the Stan Australian pre-show coverage is hokey. Joe Roff in slow-mo - ‘let’s back these wild horses in a moment of truth’.
-
Holy shit what a start. Ardie immense.
-
Naholo looked like a mini Rupeni scoring that.
-
Good start which will help quieten the small crowd.
IIRC the first team to score between NZ and AU teams this weekend went on to lose...

Berry oblivious to players cleaning out from offside.
