@Chris no switch he's 7 and captain
I thought it was going to be that.
Smart move to not select a Crusader as captain. If it happens.
Yeah it is,sends a good message to the players.
Who would be the option though?
Scott Barrett,Ardie Savea or stick with Cane could be other options.

Wasn't sure his plans post RWC.
Cane (and am massive fanboi) no guarantee to be No.1 No.7 THIS year.
See above re SB.

Wouldn't be averse, but I do get better vibes with Papalii.
I'm not sure Papalii is the best option myself. He's not the most vocal on-field captain, and you need someone who is always in the ear of the ref, or at the very least, asks the right questions when required.

Someone who's guaranteed to play 80 minutes, I'd love to see Jordie AB's captain at 12, he's a massive leader for the Hurricanes, very tactically smart player and would relish that extra responsibility I reckon.

I think I want it to be a forward. So the person ideally has to be a nailed on first choice starter. The only one I can think of is Barrett. The other Barrett

I'd love to see Dane Coles, just for the comedy value.
The ABs first ever “runs the water” captain….
I doubt he starts a test this year.

@canefan if im honest im still nervous about barrett getting a card what what a bad look that is for a captain, he might have grown out of that though im not sure
He seems to have calmed down a bit. With Ardie heading away, not sure who else could command the respect from the rest of the team
-
@Kiwiwomble said in It’s Razor. Robertson New All Blacks coach.:
@canefan the list of players that command that kind of respect seems to be dwindling, everyone seems to some question marks
At least Scooter appears to command his own spot in the team now

Now? Unless he's Fozzie's nailed on 6 then he doesn't command his own spot now.

ive come around to Barrett a bit in the last year or so, really wasnt a fan around 2019, but i still prefer him as a lock that covers 6 rather than a 6, i dont think im alone and that kind of puts an * next to him commanding a spot

New Zealand Rugby (NZR) has announced the four coaches who will assist Scott Robertson when he becomes All Blacks Head Coach after the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Current All Blacks assistant coach Jason Ryan will be joined by Leon MacDonald, Jason Holland and Scott Hansen, with the group to take up their respective roles in 2024.
Incumbent All Blacks forwards coach Ryan will continue his role in 2024. Current Blues Head Coach MacDonald will lead the attack with assistance from Hurricanes Head Coach Holland, while Crusaders Assistant Coach Hansen will be in charge of defence. Nic Gill, who has been a key part of the All Blacks management group since 2008, will stay on as Head of Performance, leading the Health and Performance team.
