How the hell is a player supposed to be able to move there? What a fucking shit ref this clown is.

Being unable to move is still your fault, intent does not matter, your there and shouldn't be. Commentators have even stopped whinging about those calls

Utter nonsense. Every referee course knows that when a player is trapped by actions of others that they should apply some leniency. Every Chiefs player pinned him into the ground with no option to escape.

I think far too many get away with slowing down play by "accidentally" falling on the wrong side, I would hope for no leniency there.

That clearly wasn't what happened though in this situation.

I suggest you watch it again.

I saw Frizell clearly trying to hold up a tackled player for a maul.

And what eventuated was actually a tackle with three Chiefs players immediately pinning him in. You have to be blind not to see that.

Exactly - so if the Chiefs are pinning him in why should it be a yellow?

That's my point. It should never have been a YC.

    That's my point too.......

If it forces players to be more careful and not risk "accidentally" ending up on the wrong side, it's a good thing. Only if it's consistent though, not a rando penalty every 5 games.

    Good point.

There's plenty of examples of DMAC playing poorly and Webber's less than accurate passing.

    In the last ten? Nah.

Sounds like a recent All Black selector - making positive comment on ~15% of the game time involvement,

You could always read my original post you replied to, the one where I said about the last ten minutes, since I'd started watching.

Happy to get on the panel though.

Nope you're wrong, that's the way it's been judged for years. On the wrong side? Tough shit, shouldn't be there. Being held there? Tough shit shouldn't be there.

I suppose it comes back to - what is the point of a yellow card? To me if a team is ill-disciplined and gives away a lot of minor penalties, why punish them with a yellow? A penalty is already a loss of possession and massive loss of territory. Punishing teams more for minor infractions does not seem logical.

I think a yellow card should be about punishing teams more for cynical and dangerous play and act as a deterrent for those behaviours. I don't see how the yellow cards in today's game do that.

Plenty of evidence in the last two Super Rugby seasons to say you're talking out of your arse. Coments from refs like "you put him there" or "don't hold him in" and refusing to penalise a defender that can't move.

DMac's kicking has been dire, but apart from that he's been good. Looks a far more composed and mature player - less headless chicken moments.

Early days in the season though,

Apart from dropping the ball cold 3 times.

The lack of organisation in the Highlanders attack is on display tonight. Slow realignment, guys seemingly not knowing where to stand, late arrival to attacking rucks, back line players that don't seem to want the ball.

And as I type, Hunt wants the try glory but he is way too upright for that close to the line
