Some strange refereeing decisions, or at least explanations. Has he just ruled a deliberate knock down for knocking the ball out of someone's hands, or was the penalty for diving over a ruck after the ball is out?

    He did both?

Thanks. I don't really see how either is a penalty. Surely you can go over a ruck once the ball is out (it is no longer a ruck) and I have never seen a deliberate knock on ruled when someone else is actually carrying a ball.

You can't come over a ruck and slap the ball down off the nine

He later told Billy Harmon the ball was out.

    šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I'm not saying it wasn't a penalty, just his explanation on that (and a few other issues) hasn't made sense to me.

He's actually offside at that point

It's the weird thing of once the ruck ends the guys in the ruck are offside,

"Gilbert puts his head down ..."
... Yes, straight down into the turf, stopping himself getting over the line.

The Blues should be ashamed for letting such a bog average team like this back in the game.

Blues in real trouble here. Highlanders have really started focusing on their weakness.

Not having 15 players on the pitch.

Blues scrum is total shit. The boys lack mobility.

Ofa ain't looking like an AB prop.

Fakatava is overplaying his hand and the most guilty of throwing some dumb passes. The Highlanders created some chances before the YCs but didn't execute.

At least we have a game now.

@Bovidae yeah Fakatava is looking a bit like the Masaga of halfbacks today.

@Steven-Harris Poor scrummaging mixed with Laulala's feet for hands and Ofa's awful discipline is holding the team back.

@Steven-Harris Yup, no one to blame but themselves for being in this situation.

They should be out of sight.
