India v Aus

It's probably from The Final Word podcast that I have been hearing that.
Predicting he would tour (as a longer term bet, for future tours) but not in the Plan A test team. And to be fair, they are 100% correct so far.
Despite even Cam Green being out from the first choice home top6, another 2 batters have leapfrogged Head. So someone in the heirachy doesn't rate him in these conditions. That says they have him at best only 8th choice for one of the top 6 positions.
'They' may end up being wrong about Head v spin in Asia right now, but that doesn't make me change my mind that it isn't a knee-jerk over-reaction to the pitch. It's presumably a reaction to Head's performances in Asia 2022.
It reads to me that they had good oil on the selection thinking from a long way out.
Not sure about Travis Head being all bad and a failure in the sub continent he made a duck in his First inns v Pakistain in Dubai then a very good 75 in the 2nd inns on a wkt turning more than the 1st innings. And that was his First test in those conditions.
Not sure about inside knowledge but Maybe Andrew McDonald who is the Australia Hc and Marnes and Uzzie might have some inside knowledge.
Expect to see Head back in for the next 2 tests. One thing I will, add Pat Cummins maybe really tested as Captain on this tour,I suspect he maybe found wanting as the Captain.

Head will definitely be in the team by the end of the series, if not the second test. The Australian selectors will be experiencing the Mike Tyson quote of having a plan until you're punched in the nose.
Although, tbf, churning through at least 2 batting replacements to the original starting 11, would probably be par for the course on a test tour of India (if of at lease 3 tests or more long).

I draw from this that it appears Andrew MacDonald has bugger all say in selection.
I think its more they didn't want to play 5 lefties so Head went, bad decision as Renshaw did nothing and will struggle we all know here if we bowl spin at Matt in certain areas he fails.
As soon as Matt comes out in club on come the spinners and he normally struggles especially to orthodox Offies.
Coach always has virtually no say in Selection mostly the Captain on tour. -

This test is turning into the Rohit Sharma and Assorted Rabble With The Bat show...
Though Jadeja may yet join in...
bloody hell. DRS has been a huge asset for the game overall -- but they just ruled pad first on a simultaneous impact. Reeeeealy tough on the batsman. Thankfully not out on impact in line (umpires call) -- but that decision doesn't seem right. Still some work to do.
-
India get 400 and push the lead out to 223.
Pressure on the Aussies. Ashwin and Jadeja will be gunning for blood with a few of these Aussie batters
@NTA that Warner dismissal was a symptom of him not playing straight.
-
@ACT-Crusader innings loss coming up

Head is going to play the 2nd test!

Looking forward to the brains trust now dropping Murphy for the second test

deadset this pitch bullshit in India is blatant unadulterated cheating.
yes, every country prepares decks that suit them. But take a fucking look at the pics of the pitch for the 2nd test. Grass in teh middle, but none at either end. it looks like a day 4 deck already. it's blatant cheating.
fuck them. I hope Australia beat them by an innings in England.
