A disappointing 2nd half from Arsenal. It would be good if Arteta could rotate players more, particularly in the front three and midfield, as some players are looking a little tired. The squad isn't deep enough for that.
Partey was a huge loss in this game, as when he plays Arsenal win.
-
@Bovidae Arsenal, still have the same problems and they are primarily in the midfield. Partey was obviously missed but they need more starch. Can anyone score outside the 18 yard box?
Enough small midgets with skill. Sinchenko needs to dropped. Big mistake at the back, slows up play moving forward and distribution into the box is crap. I guess we know why Pep let him go.
Jesus, when he comes back, is not going to make a difference moving forward but adds depth as if this is needed up front. Is the job of the commentators to find a silver lining that does not exist?
Saka needs to get himself more involved somehow.
And it's not like Arsenal did not have good chances.
Disappointing but they are an improving team. Just not Man City quality.

Not sure how I feel about automatic suspensions for red cards. Pope's hand ball was a red card all day, but it was a tiny mental slip, he initially tries to head the ball and then only after he's fallen on it his instincts kick in as he controls the ball with his hand.
Arsenal have a fairly friendly run of matches between now and the city clash at Etihad. If the win over villa gets them back on track then they should go into that game with a lead still. Should be a cracking fixture.

Chris Wood.
Good for him to leave Newcastle and get a goal
I was commenting specifically on scoring late to deny Man City the win and 3 pts.

I figured you were, but it's not always about the Arse

That was a strange game - City should have been 5 up and then they seemed to dip in intensity midway through the 2nd half, Cooper made some switcharounds of formation, Forest had their only decent attack of the game and scored from it.

I only watched the 2 min highlights on YT. Even though it was the official NF channel the highlights consisted of 1:50 of Man City shots, misses and saves by Navas. The only time Forest had possession in the highlights package was for the Wood goal.

That double miss by Haaland was comical and Laporte had a free header 3 yards out and managed to head it straight into the balls of Navas. Can now call it a 3 way battle for the title with all teams dropping points regularly.

Blackburn upset Leicester 2-1 away and will be joined in the QF draw by Brighton, Fulham (2 great goals against a Leeds team who definitely gave it a go and were unlucky not to score being profligate in front of goal) and Man City who are 3-0 up at Bristol
Likely winners tomorrow are Burnley, Spurs, Man Utd and Southampton although only Burnley are dead set certs.
The opponents being Fleetwood, Sheffield Utd, West Ham & Grimsby respectively.
a kind draw could see the season getting even better for the Cottagers....
We will get Citeh for sure

Man U score twice in injury time to beat the Hammers and Sheffield Utd hold on to put Spurs out 1-0
Quarter Finalists
Both Manchester clubs
Brighton
Grimsby
Fulham
Burnley
Sheffield Utd
BlackburnSo 4 Premiership
The top 2 Championship sides
Blackburn
and GrimsbyC'mon you Whites
Want to see the two Manchester clubs draw each other and Fulham Brighton avoid each other - best chance to see a non Top 6 eventual winner

Draw is:
City v Burnley
United v Fulham
Brighton v Grimsby
Sheffield United v BlackburnSo we're guaranteed at least one non premier league team in the semis and could have as many as three.
Blackburn v Burnley final would be very pre-World War 1.
And come on Fulham, I'm really missing Ole's United - they are much too efficient under Ten Hag and scoring way too late goals in Fergie time.
Good win for the Arse tonight - they seem to have played through their mini-blip. Watched them against Leicester and it was the most dominant 1-0 win I've seen for a while. They press really well, pass through the team really well and have some outstanding attacking talent.

@KiwiPie How did you guys lose to Dagenham?? Point behind Hollywood having played a game more.....
It's been a bad week for us. Dodgy referee was the problem of course. We definitely will have to go to North Wales and come back with 3 points.
