@mariner4life And when he starts with Savea you now have two loose forwards who look to hold players up and drive them backwards. Need at least two players who tackle with their shoulder in the loose trio imo.
Just need to watch the game last week to see him doing exactly that. Was just smashing people.
I did see him jog behind the breakdown with his back turned for the MP quick tap try and grab a player a metre out from the line when he could have dropped a shoulder for MPs try in the right corner.
If he is now being more dominant in the tackle then great but we need more than one game against the cellar dwellers to be making that call surely?IBDS. Get help.
You spent the other day making stuff up about RI, now it’s Akiras turn I see.
The moment you invent some stupid name for people critiquing your favourite players is the moment you should realise how blind you are to anything they do wrong.
Go and watch that tap try and tell me that Akira did not jog through the spot the try was scored with his back turned to the situation.
Not saying that he was at fault for the try but it wasn't play that is acceptable at the top level. It saves time.
You can try to nitpick, but he was MoM in that game, and you have to ignore 20 good things to try to invent that the try was his fault.

Not saying that he was at fault for the try but it wasn't play that is acceptable at the top level.Since you got caught lying about Reiko the other day, thought I better go take a look at this.
Akira does jog back, but before the tap he is on the right side of the ruck numbering up on defence on that side. The quick tab happens on the other side and Dalton and Funaki fail to react at all.
Blaming this on Akira (who was defending on the other side of the ruck is), wait for it.....IBDS.
Haven't you got anything better to do?

if you want to see a guy being fucking lazy and costing his team a try, watch PGS in like R2 against MP. He fucking turns his back and jogs back onside 10m from our line, and a guy runs right through the hole. He should have been back playing club rugby the next week.

That's called "Doing a Frizzell"

while i yell at the TV a lot, by fuck i yelled at the TV then. The game wasn't even in the balance, it was just another shit moment from a player not fit enough to be out there.

@mariner4life Biggest piss off is seeing players doing that. I not discussing last week's game , as I didn't watch it closely enough, but my criticism of Akira used to be he didn't put in the effort, ie if a runner was slightly wide of him , he would just turn and jog back. I honestly thought he had got rid of that last year anyway, and looked interested for longer times.
Big take of mine is always workrate etc, one of reasons I so keen on players like Sam Cane etc, spends not a nano second longer on ground after a tackle etc than necessary. Young Fabian Holland from Highlanders, was one who caught me eye because he did same when I first saw him play. One of reasons I love being at games live, love seeing players that do it well. Seems it one thing me and Eddie Jones agree on lol.Anyway as I say that's not getting into Akira/Frizzell etc, and on tv you don't often see what's going on around these players and reason why they are doing what they do.

Reading comprehension problems?
Still isn't good to turn your back on a live ball however you want to spin it or make up names for people that have a different view than yours. Or accuse them of lying.
Total bullshit from someone that should set a better example.
I'm off for a while.

He ran back onside and was ready in position before the quick tap, you are quibbling with how fast he did it and saying he had his back to play, which is just inaccurate.
The clear inference was that the try was partly his fault. Just not true. IBDS.

@mariner4life Canes defence is closest to the likes of Jerry or Kaino, but he doesnt seem suited to how we want our 6 to play...
He put a huge hit on a front rower in the weekend who in most cases would have scored, but no, Cane came from nowhere and stopped him dead.

Great tackler, sure.
But does he still have the speed at international level to get around the park effectively? -

@Kirwan the problem for Akira is he couldn't replicate his form vs Aussie when he played the Boks.
he's not alone there. There is a rogues gallery of forwards who look good beating up shit Aussie packs and then failing against others. Lots of them have played 6.
Upvoted solely for the use of rogues gallery.

Beaudy and Mo'unga are rightfully nowhere to be seen.
Haven't been great this year so far - but still a long way to go. If DMac continues to show his maturity and cutting out the risky plays, he's a shoe-in for me. Both RM & BB have always had that little bit of flakiness which always worries you.
Be interesting who'll be the the next off the cab rank - Ritchie or BB?

@Bovidae it's almost guaranteed they will carry two loose forwards on the bench. Barrett will start at 6 and then move to lock. Cane will get subbed. Savea will play 80.
DP will bench, the guy covering 6 is the "unknown" at this stage.
I reckon you can probably pen in 22 of the 23 that will be named for the knock-outs now.
While Barrett at 6 mightn’t be perfect in lots of peoples eyes , I think with cane and ardie starting , he seems to be best equipped to add the stuff that is lacking , if that makes sense .
I thought our pack did look best last year with that set up .
Then we could have something like Hoskins and Blackadder on the bench with scooter playing 80 Minutes .

And one injury to lock has you changing two positions instead of one, and not to mention it's repeating the mistakes of 2019 if we are at all interested in learning from that tournament...
-
i hate it, i was purely predicting who will be picked
i fucking hate the way the ABs start players who also cover others. If you want to change your 10, you also need to change your 15 in our current set up etc
-
If I was really honest I’m not sold on it either ,
But of all the options we tried last year it seemed to operate the best , or that’s how I saw it at the time .
So I’m probably going along with it more than endorsing it . And can be easily persuaded if I see something better .
-
Crikey - you guys think Fozzie is going to change his first-five with five games left to the World Cup?
The Richie (without a T)/Beaudy question got answered comprehensively last year - and the subtext of that question was "Who will start at the Rugby World Cup?".
I need to be careful not to post drunk or I'll end up in a hat eating bet!
