The interesting thing about that is both look like being gone post WC.

Beaudy I agree with but what makes you think Richie will move on? If Razor ends up taking the reins post WC, surely Richie is his number one man.

I hear he has lined up a 2 year deal in Japan for 2024/25.
Unless Razor can convince him otherwise but he would have to be confirmed as coach before that happens.

RMo has made it clear his and family's future is overseas after WC. I will be surprised if he hasn't got deal signed before WC next year, as he not quite good enough to be a real star at the tournament . In saying that I would love him to prove me wrong.

He is close to signing now so I hear.

    @Canes4life 15 is Reuben Love's best position.

I'm not disputing that, all I'm saying is that if the cupboard is bare I think Love could end up being a quality 10 aswell.

Well the cupboard is bare. Threadbare even, judging by the options offered in this thread.

Yeah, it's worrying that DMac aside there really isn't any decent options to choose from. Hopefully someone can shine over the next 18 months.

I think we may see a couple came through, I always remember when everyone was saying there were no new 10s coming through a few years abck, and a nephew of mine said stuff em all Uncle, Aaron Cruden a young fella at my club will be bloody good as! So I always since then have remained hopeful/confident cupboard not as bare as we panic about. Say the same before Sam W and Brodie R came on scene at lock there was a lot of gloom.

@Dan54 What about Halford, he was being described as Carter like in a performance for Canterbury at NPC level. Didn't see much more from him, did he get a Super contract?

If we don't know enough to have disagreements about a players abilities he is unlikely to get a mention.

Of course if the Cantab posters start blowing smoke up his arse we will be all in to offer uneducated opinions. This is the way.

Really? Carter like? Don't recall any comments like that. Happy to be proven wrong of course. I do recall a few comments on whether he is anywhere near being an option for the Saders though.

I'll consider Harford a serious option when he's good enough that people learn his name

Is DM back for good in NZ, past the WC?

With the selection policy of close calls going to people staying in NZ, that might give him the edge over RM. Not that much between them IMO.

Might be a mistake to sign overseas early.

I'd say it's Dmac for sure initially, then A Morgan second.

Perofeta hasn't quite shown enough to be a shoe in for me. Although to be fair he probably hasn't realy had much of a chance

Zarn Sullivan and Ruben Love need more game time in 10 to be thought of as an actual option

@Kirwan Dmac only signed with NZR/Chiefs for one year (2023).

    Alex,

I would suggest a 23 yo No 10 that noone has heard of, is still only getting run in NPC mainly as a reserve, may have quite some hill to climb to make ABs.

Quite a sensible post in a thread really just discussing possibilities.

He probably is a chance for SR to replace RM if Harford can get NPC time.
