I was shit bat thoughHaha yeah, we watch bowlers like Southee throwing them down at 130ks and call him medium pace, but when you face 130ks it feels more like 150, it's on you in a flash. I've never faced anything 140k+, I actually don't know how professional batsmen even hit the ball.

Not atm there is talk here in the Cricket circles of a Northern QLd based team.
Qld Bulls masters are heavily involved in the McKay and Townsville areas and are pushing for one. -

Yeah real possibility although I have heard Townsville's Riverway park mentioned good lighting at that ground.
Townsville was mentioned as being more central to the NQ cricket area.
McKay Harrup Park is used a lot for under age Country rep stuff but is a bit small I think it only holds about 7000.

Trevor Bayliss batting approach.Strong base, hit through the ball idea use all the power from the hips he has used that for a while.
Baseball style hitting its used a bit over here but it was not executed very well and you can only do it to length balls or back of the length stuff as soon as it is forward of a length you can not get enough leverage to hit it far. -

It works very well when executed correctly,Glen Maxwell and Glen Phillips are great exponents of it,every top 20/20 player hits big that way and have used it for a few years now.Brendan McCullum used it and I see England are now batting that way it at test level.
But you have to pick the right ball like any shot.
Thats why they are hitting further you generate more power and hit further and in more area's.All about the power base no base you can't hit anything very far.
It has revoultionised the 20/20 game,
when you have hit a ball using this technique you really understand the concept and the improvement in your range hitting.
