Don’t think whataboutery and whataboutism mean the same thing…

Stats don’t lie
He’d have had a hatful if he’d played for France
Shit Poland team

Good game so far. Ref letting things go a little. England clinical and score.
Walker should have been YC
Great move and finish
But very much against the run of play
-
Senegal falling apart here.
-
Game Over
Sub Kane nowLet Rashford have a hatful
-
Senegal architects of their own demise
Punished
-
He started quietly but good there: no idea how foden wasn’t in the earlier starting XIs, he’s been excellent for MC this year so far.
-
Cane looks better as a holding player rather pushing all the way forward. He’s had a great spell in the last 20.

Watching this WC for the first time and despite England going 3 up with some good goals, the game is not grabbing me. Seems all a bit negative to me and by the cringe the comms blokes are completely Barry White. It’s like they’re just not that interested, plus they’re all boring, monotonal half wits.
Classic example: You can’t relax against any of these teams left, they’re all full of internationals.
Really? Wouldn’t have thought that.

@Crucial or how few people knew the rule, that does seem a bit ridiculous though
No different from the NFL where they talk about the ball crossing the plane of goal
of course, we get that all the time, this was the first time ive heard anyone go as far as allowing for the curve of the ball rather than just contact at ground level

Who didn't know the rule?
In soccer the line is in.
It's just those who want the rule to be wrong.
as i say, id (and lots of other apparently) never seen an example where we can clearly see grass on the other side of the line and it still be call in due to the curve of the ball, not saying it was the wrong call, just saying there are a lot of people that didn't know that was taken into consideration and so for those people...at first glance...it was a mile out

One of students tried that this morning, ‘I know I’m late to your class but part of my body was inside the University at the start of class, so I’ m not really late’.
That earned a fantastic reception from the class.
I laughed.
Then marked the little fluffybunny late.
