Belgium forced to change World Cup away kit last minute by FIFA for the most ridiculous reason

Belgium forced to change World Cup away kit last minute by FIFA for the most ridiculous reason

FIFA have stopped captains of World Cup teams wearing the 'One Love' armband and now the Belgium team aren't even allowed the word 'Love' on their kit

more than just the armband banned, a whole kit that was announced two months ago, surely leaving it so late to take action is just making more press

@Kiwiwomble Yep, the more restrictions are impsoed and the more inadequate FIFA and the Quatari organisers are, the more attention all these issues will get from the media. Exactly the opposite of what they want. I wonder what the next thing is. Banning all the protesters (or their shirts and signage) against the Iranian regime? Organising the tournament in Quatar was always going to lead to political issues. FIFA are so stupid!

    Yep

    USA will be kicking themselves

    Should have won this easily

But fair play we got better as the game went on

    Moore was fantastic

Not a soccer aficionado, and I started watching from about 55 mins. But from my uneducated eye Wales had the better of the game.

    Definitely from that point onwards

I still wouldn't trust the English defence once it gets to the knockout stages.

As @MiketheSnow says, the USA were so dominant in the 1st half they were worth more than a 1-0 lead. That came back to bite them through a stupid challenge.

And you can trust their ability to take penalty kicks even less...

I do like the World Cup for its drama, but everything that is wrong with football and player antics is amplified 10 fold in a World Cup.

Just watching this Senegal v Netherlands replay and the carry on by both sides has been terrible.

Klassen who scored the second goal was slightly hit in a contest just a couple of minutes prior and you’d swear by his reaction he had been maimed, but then runs in for a good goal off the deflection.

I think it's pretty fucken stupid. What better way for these caring football players to make a statement than to go to the world cup and get paid millions of dollars to pretend they were going to wear an arm band.

Way better than saying "nope I'm not going".

@MiketheSnow the pressure of a World Cup aye! Thought the Argies went to sleep in the second half and whilst they had a couple of opportunities, the Saudis did most of the attacking.

The Argies v Mexico match takes on new meaning.

You can always bank on Saudi Arabia to execute well.

Saudis were fucking good. That defensive shape just fucked Argentina, and they had good pace to snuff out any half breaks

VAR has changed how teams defend. They Saudis cut a fine line last night, but VAR bailed them out 3 times. Teams have a higher line and rely on VAR making it very hard to beat the trap.

    Both Saudi goals were great

And now Australia have scored first v France

France still need to convert those chances as Aust could still nick a goal (see Irvine header). Mbappé should have scored.

Mbappe is the player Ronaldo (and his BFF Piers) thinks he is.

    He’s not even close anymore.

France 4-1, although it sounds like some of the Aussie fans have found a way to get beers into the stadium.

Geez after the first Aussie goal, and then that just missed screamer, that really turned in to what it actually was

A team of guys from like 2nd Div England clubs, or the bloody A-League, against a collection of the best players in the world.

Aus tried playing with control which really just played in to France's hands, as they just have better players. And pace everywhere.

Bit of a belting in the end.
