Two good fucking sides should be a ripper of a game

We win and everyone heads in to summer feeling pretty good.

Lose though and all we'll remember is this game and the early part of the year.

Who'd be an AB coach aye?

I'd prefer Reece swapped in for DH. Do we really need 2 MF subs? Perhaps if DH had been run at 15 last week we could see if he was any good there, but instead we'll run the risk of having him front against a vastly superior opponent in a place we don't generally win easily instead...

It’s really average isn’t it. 9 games out from a World Cup we are fielding that slop.

There is a DMAC shaped hole on that bench and Will Jordan nailed on for 15.

I think Beaudys days are numbered.

So basically if Telea vs Scotland was actually a mirage, and CC fails to kick on again, or one of either of those guys gets crocked, we are fucked

This match is a dress rehearsal for next year (or at least it should have been).

He has a bloke at 12 who he never wanted at 12.
We have a fullback who was 10 last week who never scores anymore.
A winger who wasn’t in the initial squad.
The best hooker in the world (who scores every week) on the bench.
A reserve 9 who was launched out of the squad as yesterdays man and is now back in the squad.
We have scooter back at 6 just like RWC 2019 semi final.
We have Sotutu on the bench who has basically only played against Japan .
    Akira has been jettisoned altogether.
We have two midfielders on the bench , both of whom look like they are running in custard.

We are falling arse over tit towards the next World Cup. I don’t know what Foster has been trying to do.

Compare it to 2015, where we knew our best players in every position and sprinkled in some irresistible Milner Skudder fairy dust pre tournament.

The best comparison I can recall was Laurie Mains and his constant chopping and changing all the way up into the 1995 RWC. Foster will hope that something sticks in time for 2023. But from where I am sitting he just seems to be guessing

Happy enough with that. Would not have DH and ALB on the bench though.

Think that’s the end for Akira just has not taken his chances.

Delighted for Telea. He did take his chance and gets a deserved start.

Akira is far too loose for England IMHO

If he is too loose for England , you can add France Ireland and South Africa to the list . So knockout rugby is not in his future.

Most interesting point of selection for me Scott Barrett at 6.

I thought it would happen, but it's confirmation we want to play very physical and tight with more emphasis on forward power than in previous years and I think it is an indicator of the strategy going forward into the World Cup.

We have come full circle right back to RWC semi again.

    Not such a good omen.

And yet he played too tight against Scotland.

Essentially Kaino ruined 6's for us - we've had Blackadder, Frizell and Akira all have good games and average games and we're going to continually keep trying Scooter. A guy had a decent game for the ABXV one week and he was anointed the next big thing. Surely MMT needs to have his chance next year. 😉

Very quick backline (JB would be the slowest poke) so if they get some space they could do some damage. Good to see Telea get another shot.

Taylor better continue his slight upwards trajectory and not resort to type.

    Regardless of the team.

We owe these kunts a towelling.

    Into them like rabid dogs.

I want to see kapa o pango. Exocet clean outs, and Nigel’s in their debenture seats crying into their Pimms and Diet Coke.

    Let’s fucking have it.

Don't forget that they benched Sam Cane and that the game plan was try and find magical fake space on the edges.

Hansen won in 2015 and well done that man, but he should have been gone by 2019.

And then his deputy (Foster) who was involved in that selection process, gets the head coach gig and gives the captaincy to the bloke they benched for the biggest game in 4 years.

Such muddled up thinking from 2017 Lions tour onwards.

He knew he should go in 2017 but the NZRFU convinced Shag to stay. Then they doubled down by picking Fozzie, setting us back for an entire RWC cycle

Makes perfect sense to me. Fakatava getting injured reduced his options for the 3rd halfback role. Christie wasn't that flash last week & TJP grabbed his chance & did pretty well.

Have to give de Groot credit for getting into the Aussies at Eden Park. He fucking smashed some guy, and that Aussie got up and had a massive whinge to the ref. de Groot starting going "waa, waa, waa" and did that pantomimed wiping tears motion where you pinch you thumb and index finger and rotate them back and forth at the corner of your eye.

Now if he can do that to those fluffybunnies Genge and Sinckler ...

BBBRs 100th test. Coming off his suspension I hope he comes out firing, and if we play a more direct game plan to set a platform as we did vs Wales that will give us a great chance to win

The lineout battle should be interesting. England has only two jumpers. With four LO specialists, I hope the ABs will compete on each opposition's throw.

South Africa bludgeoned England last November but lacked the incisiveness to turn their overwhelming territory and possession into points and scoreboard pressure. England have the capability to score something out of nothing. Almost like a role reversal between NZ and England 🙂
