Waynes Barnes missed what we saw in a bar in Edinburgh:
He plainly needs to take a look at his prematch fluids routine.
The All Blacks were penalised for exactly the same thing on the weekend: A clear non bind situation ignored because the refs only look at the defenders when it comes to mauls.
Exactly! Remember that.

After three pints he wouldn't have missed it!
P.S. Is he a closet Francophile (has form)?

Barnes didn’t have a bad test and I think both red cards were genuinely regretted by both players.PSDT cut an abject figure on bench and DuPont apologised to Kolbe on the field.
Our lineouts weren’t great and Bongi needs to sort more than just a 2 ball to Etzebeth .Thought Marchand was full value.
It was an intense test and really enjoyable apart from the result. What a cauldron of a venue and it bodes well for RWC. French at home are going to be tough for everyone…they REALLY want their name on that cup… -
@NTA The only defancies with Willemse is his place kicking. His distribution, defense has always been outstanding plus he is a very good stepper.
He played 10 all his years and only change to 15 on Rassie's request. Lately he play 12 at the Stormers who have Libbok in 10 and Gelant in 15.This 3 had a massive year for the Stormers.
Willie, also a Paul Roser played 10 until the Cheetahs moved him to 15 and wing.
In my view the Springboks is in desperate need of flair player like Willemse and Willie.
I think you missing the pot totally.

@OomPB unfortunately Willie is less flair but more erratic these days. He always seems rushed and therefore is making poor reads or bad kicks. IMO I think he’s better as a bench option and hopefully for the Boks his abilities can be better used late in the game rather than for longer periods

Willie seems to go through highs and lows doesn't he?! Not sure what the issue is, maybe sometimes he panics.

Willie was pretty good in his last two outings against Ireland and Wales.
Willemse scrambling defense is excellent specially when we are 14 men.
-
I hope to see Libbok and Roos get a decent run against Italy. If Libbok goes well in 10, we can move Willemse to his best position in 12. Then we can ignite our excellent finishers on the wing.

@NTA I hope you watched the Italy test. The proof is in the pudding with Willemse, Willie and Libbok. They can change that dore Bok backline into a try scoring machine.
-
It's Italy they were playing against.
-
@The-Irishman yes, they beat the Wallabies last week.
It's not about the opponent or scoreline.
It's about the gameplan the Boks played.
Box kick up and under fest Dore rugby vs running rugby.

Firstly, there is no response I can provide where you think I'm right, so this will be short.
- I think you'll also remember I said that Willemse could make something of his combination with the wingers, but that he wasn't much more than a fullback playing 10. AND I said Le Roux was a flake who was good at carving up second-rate defensive teams.
Secondly, it was Italy.
Third: I'll watch the game because I'm bored and the weather is crap, but I'll bet it is about as impressive as watching paint dry. My prediction: Bok forwards bash holes in an Italian defensive line that wasn't very impressive against a Wallaby "B" side, and then given the backs space to work.
