@Machpants Graphically illustrates the difference in defenders being red carded for attacks to the head/neck and attackers getting away scott free. Although there was an attacker redcarded in one of the Northern Hemisphere games overnight for something similar to this picture.

@Higgins I've never in my many years of rugby seen someone concussed from a fend to the face though. Entirely undangerous in the scheme of things.
Now bump offs to the head would be almost the most common, and now by lowering tackles to below the hips you'll see 1000% more of those. Stupidest law change I've ever heard. The chest height tackle is the safest tackle in rugby.

Can you explain what you mean by bump offs to the head? Do you mean when the tackler gets the head position wrong?
