Example of the risks at 7s, in the pool games, of getting an inexperienced ref. Once he saw one penalty on defence he focused on everything. Some borderline stuff called but all by the book.

France beating Oz in the women’s pool was a good game but again some weird reffing. Oz do this thing where they make a tackle and have a “jackler” step right over the tackle as it is being made then reach down. No hands on ball or possession contested, just painting a picture to the ref. The refs seem to work off these pictures rather than reality.

@Bones Not sure. She didn't seem fully recovered from that injury early in the game. I assume they kept her on the field to save her replacement's energy for the final. I have no other explanation.
