Big game for Taha Kemara too. I was expecting Finau to be in the 23, even as cover at lock.
he went alright! getting some really good depth in the side now

Waikato started well and then clocked off for the next 30 mins. Better in the 2nd half with the impact off the bench.
A worry with the injuries to the wingers, and maybe Cook-Savage. Cortez on the wing isn't really an option.
For a team that was more B team than A team, they did what was expected. I thought both locks had busy games, and Sinkinson would be interesting McMillan and co.

Yeah, Kemara is definitely a player for the future in his first year out of school. His goal kicking was really good too.

Liked the expansive attitude from Waikato and the growth in the new players. Kemara looks like a great prospect and Sinkinson and McCurran have impressed all year.
Bit worried about the lack of flow at the base of the ruck. Seemed uncertain in middle part of the match with ball going to players not set to run on to it and some easy tackle targets. Maybe the lesser experienced players not calling the plays so well. I liked it when the wider passes and draw and pass worked at the start and in second half.
Ah Sue getting better each week. Tuhakaraina and Reuben improving too.
Hayden Michael's is good value for Southland and Alaimalo showed good intent. -
@Bovidae yes. He has been quicker overall in the past. Think there is something going on in his mind about checking options before and after he picks up ball. Maybe just needs to hurry to one pace closer and wait for a call behind him. More minutes will sharpen it up.
