@ACT-Crusader I don't mind Waugh and what's your issue with Smithy?
Waugh is so drab and way too negative.
Ian Smith just over eggs it
Pretty sweet gig for Smithy though. Two more games to commentate and then presumably flies down to Melbourne for the Bledisloe next Thursday.

I feel I must apologise for over estimating the BCs.
Don't beat yourself up, the massage therapy delays were a novel and creative display of classic Australian sportsmanship, and I'm sure Fair Work will have something to say about making Cameron Green stagger through those final overs in the interests of classic Australian sportsmanship.
-
The issue last night was, every bowler who wasn't Boult looked a bit shit. Satnav was completely unthreatening. Carey and Green looked comfortable very quickly. There were a couple of inside edges for 4, but other than that, they looked happy, and found gaps far more easy than the guys in black did.
That's a disappointing loss in the end. Score felt 20 short, but even then, at 5/44 we should have made more of it than that.
Happy i left about 8.45

The inability to capitalise on 5 down for fuck all neatly demonstrated classic Slack Crap ability.
We do have a freakish habit of completely crumbling against Australia fore whatever reason you’re quite right.
These days are long gone.

Henry was okay too. We should have pushed all in with Boult and Henry while the ball was still moving and tried to knock them all over

This is the worst commentary team in the history of broadcast cricket - Howie, Haddin, Waugh, Ian Smith.
I don’t mind Skull and Brendan Jillian is okay. But those other four clowns 🤮
Yeah - for an Australian commentary team they were terrible.
Terrible captaincy by Little Kane. If ever there was a time to put your eggs in the wicket-taking basket it was at 5/40.
Now, sure....he may have thought his second-line bowlers only have to get him one wicket, but when they didn't for fucks sake, get back to the frontline bowlers ASAP while the ball is still doing something. I simply can't see how saving Boult for later was a good plan.
BMac as captain wins that game by 100 runs!!!
-
@Chris-B yeah, I tuned in late so figured he'd bowled 7 already so they were saving him, but Aus effectively won the game while Boult had only bowled 5 overs! Frustrating to watch, you'd expect better from Kane

We’ve been saying that a fair bit in recent times.
It’s as if Kane bought Santner on when OZ were on the ropes to try and get through some overs. Santner got exposed at the end big time.
The shame is that Ferg took a bit to get going too. I would’ve given a few more overs to Neesh.

That was never on. Our score was so low the only way we were going to win was to bowl them out. Kane and Stead's faith in Bracewell and Santner is exasperating.

We should have pushed all in and tried to knock them outUnfortunately with Kane as captain and Stead as coach that was never going to happen. They simply aren't built to be that attacking.

There was very little logic to it.
If Oz were to win, Carey, Green and Maxwell were going to have to do most of the work - we could either bowl our guns at them when they weren't set and conditions were helpful - or hold them in reserve in case they got set and the ball got old.
Waaay dumber than Cane and Fozzie have managed.

I still don't know why Guptill, Santner and Bracewell are in the team. At least the first two have been heroes in black in the past. But they hurt us at least as much as they help. And Bracewell is just bizarre. An old journeyman who seems to be teacher's pet right now

Yes it was Ireland. But nobody else did any good...
