@ nzrugbydatabase twitter says this is first time since 1997 we've named the same starting xv 3 times in a row.. I found that stat crazy.. what was the tweaks between i.e the 2015 world cup quater and final team?

This tweet, I assume?

@FakatavaAllBlack without doing anything spectacular to deserve it
-
@FakatavaAllBlack He's been solid without being spectacular, but is still the best option. Tupaea misses some of his skillset (kicking game, for example) and had a mare against Ireland. RTS hasn't played enough rugby. Jordie is a fullback. There's just no one who clearly offers more (until ALB returns from injury).

i know you're probably right but that bugs me, if someone isn't up for playing then we shouldn't pick them in the squad, he would be learning more about rugby running with Auckland

missing the NPC last year was critical in stunting his development. Covid has screwed a few things

Setting aside all else - I just cant follow the reasoning behind having a third openside and a specialist centre on the bench?
not that i want to defend them...but
they obviously dont see savea as a 7 at all anymore and they know RI can cover wing and Havili could cover 15 if needed
-
So predictable.
What's lost in the shuffle is Coles' recent AB performances have been as bad as Taylors.
Hopefully Samisoni plays more than 45 minutes.
Interesting the 'injured' starting props from last week that 'had' to come off the field are fit to play this week.....

There's only two guys that regularly play openside. Ardie will likely play 80mins at no8 again. Papali'i covers 6 & 7. SF covers 6 & 8. Also S Barrett covers 6
QT is easy to explain. Barrett covers 10 & 15, Reiko covers wing. There's no need for additional outside back cover

I know David Havili is a good player but I just never thought he would have such a firm grip of the all blacks 12 jersey...
The two players that were playing 12 before he was selected for the ABs are both injured.

I think it points to Cane and Frizell being replaced in the second half with Papalii and Retallick respectively.

@Duluth outside injury cover this doesn't really explain 'why'. Whats the point in bringing Frizel off for Dalton when you could have a high impact player coming off the bench like Sotutu.
shows how defensive we are at the moment, providing a chop out or injury cover is as far as this coaching team can see, the idea of a 23 that can go up a gear or change its whole gameplan in the final 20 is beyond them
-
@Kiwiwomble I’d disagree on Papalii. He was a good impact player off the bench when he started with the ABs.
