Rough tips and other bets...

I meant AHEAD of time, jeez I cant do anything with those now!

Sorry was actually typing that while you posted and then go interrupted.
Have a mate in Aus who races dogs so has given me some insights but still lose plenty (you dont need to see my list of those!)
Finding dogs a lot easier to pick. A couple of things I've learnt...
- A fast dog from box 1 (red) or 8 (pink) is pretty hard to beat.
- A fast dog from one of the mid to outer boxes can take out those on the inside if its pings hard from the start and goes straight to the rail. This can set things up for a quick dog in 7 or 8 to get a good place run.
- Dogs tend of have a lot of history from certain boxes, ie have most of their results from those and bugger all elsewhere.
- Sometimes dog randomly run in to each other which is farken hard to recover from.
- Usually only 8 dogs in a race yet pays out on 3 places.....good chance of getting a place!!
Also correct staking is real important in dogs and horses. I basically set a stake a like 2% of my account balance and will generally put say 1 stake on a win and then 2 to a place depending on the places odds. Ideally want to ensure I can cover total cost of my bet by my place winnings. Anything about $2 is great (but also a long shot). If place is like $1.50 then 2 to 1 place to bet ratio required.

On a couple later today at Mornington. Sharing for the sake of letting you know what I'm betting on and not that I think they are great tips and are sure winners
R2 #10 Pachini Boy $11.00 & $3.25 (on bet 365) outsider as 1st run (trailled well) but Damien Oliver in the sadde
R5 #5 Curragh (tavistock) only paying $2.70 to win (on bet365) but think going to be very hard to beat -
Just picked up a couple decent pays on dogs again. Two I like the look of in particular are both at Ballarat tonight
Race 8 #6 and race 9#1 both should win
Oh and #4 in race 7 but place onlyIf betting on NZ tab then it seems to be tote odds only until it's next race up then they offer fixed as well.

I have a couple of previous winners running today...won a couple of times with Beautys Rose, R6 at Rotorua, had a place with Zakynthos (only bet cos another horse I was bettign on was running and thought I may as well seeing as I went to Zakynthos) who is running at Ashburton, R8.

Was on track for a real decent night last night and needed the red hot fav dog to win to pay me out over $2k. Should have cashed out as the dog got pipped by a total outsider who ran a massive PB of almost half a second which is just insane on a 25 second race!

Solomons is looking quite tidy for Wednesday. I think he's worth a good go.
Hank Marvin will need a bit of luck. Looks great with his shiny black coat but he is going to need a bit of distance I think. Still worth a punt and he will have 4kgs off his back.
