@Winger too many has beens in the Lions. Not good enough.
They've got enough super rugby players to do better than they are. They have been poor in the last 2 games. And Canterbury certainly aren't unbeatable

It it's pretty obvious then, their super players can't be much good.

That win was based on defence - Wellington turned over a lot of ball but the pressure from the defense played a big part in that.
I thought Matt Moulds had a huge game. Bar his first few lineouts he was best on field in the first 50 mins. I wouldn't mind seeing Moulds 6, Mau'u 7 and Matich 8 whilst Robinson is injured. Brings some real physicality.
Some real experience in that squad today and good experience off the bench too. Hawkins much maligned but has been adding a lot from the bench so far this season. Would rather see Tua at 12 and Ranger on the bench but either way it's a good player to come on in the 2nd half. Both Adams and CTC added a lot from the bench.
Reihana looks a lot more confident this year too

@Chiefy07 thought our loosies, particularly Rush & McNamara put in huge shifts, only one at risk I think is Mau'u (who is playing well) from Matich, although we know Tom will slot back in at 6 if he is fit.
Was awesome seeing our 4th and 5th ranked locks do the business too, and we have 2 very promising ones in the dev side too.
BUt agree, the defence was excellent and forced many of the errors Wellington made,.
Yep, Hawkins has come on and done everything you could ask of him, nice cameos in each game so far.
Yeah its a shame about MOulds throwing, always been his Achilles heel, because outside that he is excellent.
I think we might have Ofa & Goodhue for at least 1 more week, so have to assume both will start next week.

@taniwharugby Rush adds a good lineout option which is why he will probably stay in the 6 jumper but overall too inconsistent for me.
I rate McNamara but think Matich would bring the same work rate and consistency but add in some more physicality and ball running.
With the locks I thought LHE was very good but Craig struggled with the pace and physicality a bit. Will be better for it though.

Goodhue had a bit of a spring in his step. Great to see.
JGB had a Giteau-esque goal kicking afternoon. Tough going.

Was good for Craig to get game time. He will be better for it.

Watched the extended highlights today , if someone had told me we would be 2 for 3 after 3 rounds i would taken that every day of the week , if someone told me we would have only conceeded 2 x tries in 3 games , then i would have told them they were on drugs .
Defence was superb as it was for the first 2 rounds ..
Be good to get our attack up to speed but given the conditions and to shut a team like Wellington down that has so much x factor and who pumped us by 50 last year , i will take that every day of the year..
