I thought it was all about The Journey and/or blaming Deans?

    Shouldn’t it be on -1 ?

I understand there is a never ending selection debate with this team but that XV was more than good enough to win. How many Pumas make the Boks starting XV?

I’d love to know - it would be a far reach for a journalist to ask - how many of the refs matches the AB coaching team watched? Inexcusable failure to adapt.

The first thing that had me screaming at the Tv was kicking sticks for the first penalty - 40m out on the angle.

At any sport at any level, you can’t have your captain getting consistently dragged in tight games. Can’t happen.

I do, however, question the effectiveness of the AB leadership group. Are they too powerful?

    Very good point.
They backed Foster and probably swung the balance in his favor and then, in this age of feelings over results and the fear of angering the players, the NZR lacked the balls to sack him.

Pure surmise on anyone's part, but I don't think it was just that. He was backed by Schmidt, IIRC and the way Foster was treated by NZR would get anyone's sympathy and strong support from within the team

Edit: For clarity. I was more referring to the Snr Players influence on how the whole set-up runs, rather than their influence on coaching personnel.

I wonder if a few in that group were worried about being replaced by Razor.

Who would they be and why would they want to continue losing?

...and that's why you don't make a decision to back a losing coach on the back of one win. What a fucking debacle.

Yep, I thought the accolades for Jason Ryan after one v. good forwards performance was a bit OTT.

Really weird loss, ABs always looked in control of all phases of play (except for when Taylor threw the LOs, of course). The referee was extremely generous towards the defending team, and seeing as the ABs had so much ball (because ARG defence was good), they got penalised a lot. That refereeing made the game extremely unfun to watch, he rewarded any split second of jackaling, even if cleaned out right after. Argies never looked dangerous, their try was a fluke (and shame on you, Aaron Smith), and ABs still managed to fuck it up. Bad decision making & leadership

I remember listening to Mark Ella talk about getting your "point of difference" players into the game. He was referring to Folau at the time and how Australia needed to get the ball in his hands as much as possible.

We have 4 points of difference players for me at the moment and they are all being misused.

    Samisoni : Underutilised
    Will Jordan : wrong position
    Ardie Savea : wrong position
    Rieko Ioane : wrong position

Is Havili better starting at 12 than Tupaea?

Deans had a pretty good record fro the AB's between 2008-2013.

Can't wait to see if Foster is better when hes in charge of Australia.

@Steve The problem is not the backs. We lost in the forwards again especially in the second half. This makes the backs look ordinary.

    Don't think so.

Think we need a fatty there. A Laumape, an Umaga Jensen brother.

    Heck give Roger a go.

Havili is being picked to do Aaron Mauger things and he is trucking it up as if he is prime Nonu and getting rag dolled.

We have lost 6 out of 8 so most of the incumbents can have no quibbles about being dropped.

Cant get any worse can it.

Im not disagreeing but jeez we don't help ourselves.

We are being beaten by teams with Mack Hansen, De Allende, James Lowe in their backs.

Bundee Aki couldn't get in the NZ squad 10 years ago.

I think we have had a Savea problem and a Barrett(s) problem for about 5/6 years now. They are undroppable yet upset the balance everywhere else.

What to say. Argentina deserved that, their defence was awesome.

I’m sorry but cane HAS to go, he’s just not contributing enough.

Oh well, we can look forward to the challenge of facing Argentina next week.
