Taukei’aho didn't have the impact in the Ireland tests that he had last year. I can also understand them not starting Coles, who hasn't played much at all, this year. So in that light, starting Taylor makes a lot of sense. I don't think he's been as bad as people are posting here.
Yep almost seems some players are more effective against super defences etc huh Star?
Coming back to this post. You either haven't watched him playing in black or are thinking of someone else. There is no way in hell that comment can be justified.
No stats required to see him driving forward and making tackles better than anyone else we have. You could even rate him among the best in the world at hooker.
If he isn't injured I'll will remove all benefit of doubt I have been giving these coaches. -

We are complaining that our gameplan seems to rely on individual brilliance but then have two 10s that have always played that way.
I wonder if Perofeta, Zarn Sullivan or even David Havili might be better in those spots post World Cup.

Don't know what the reason is that Sotutu doesn't get a run, but if they're not going to use him, can they please bring in Cullen Grace for the Rugby Championship?
I wonder if that part of it Star? Have they already decided that Grace has made a statement for MABs, so will not gavie Sotutu a run. Also after this week a smaller squad has to be named for RC anyway, so some will miss out.
Although, why (if it happened) ditch Sotutu though when PGS has had a poor start to internationals?
Yeah, that's just weird. Probably it's just due to something we're not seeing and that they're seeing at training (?).
It's Foster's super secret insight into the players.

so i assume the presser hasn't happened
what does selection tell us?
Little change to the pack means the same tactics there i imagine.
Havili in means probably as much if not more kicking, just by someone else.absolutely, my take is ST injured/Covid , Havili is the acknowledgement they wanted another kicking option, Im also guessing Akira gives them more versatility in back row, covers lock and 6/8 which they may prefer to keep as many big bodies on the field. We know Dalton is 6/7 but likely might use him as 7 only this time depending on injury
-
@bayimports actually that's a good point about the bench
if we have two guys that will probably play 80 in the loosies why two on the bench? One lock will sit down, and SB will shift. who else goes?

You clearly didn't pay any attention to Taylor or Sami' in the last two games (or in all the games last year for that matter). I can therefore only conclude you aren't you aren't a true rugby man.

I really like the RTS call. It’s a big game and he won’t be overawed. He has a bit of class to him but is a hard worker on both sides of the ball.
ABs by 8 and Coles to score the game sealing try.
If you watched the Warriors games you will see that Roger often made mistakes - and got pushed off in tackles. He has been the same with the Blues. So great attacking but has some issues. In such a big game it’s a big call.
For the Warriors RTS was generally covering for 12 dunderheads and having to account for most of the attacking metres for his side at the same time.
Yes that goes without saying. But if you look at when he played at the Roosters it was the same. The most noticeable is the grab tackle where he gets pushed off. It’s just a work on for him.
In general, his defense has been better than QT and Havili in SR despite having less experience than them.
Strangely, he is quite good at reads already. I thought that was going to be his biggest weakness on defense.
Yep he is not bad - our D was poor last week, we played a lot without the ball for various reasons. Hope we do better.
-
just a few thoughts, agree with others Samisoni should obviously be in the team, Extremely happy Fakatava remains in the side🙂 ditto Ross, Sotutu didn't feature this series🤔 I hope Dave Havili can bring his form from the final to the cake tin this Saturday & well Roger I wish him all the best!
-
@JC judging by DCs social media account, he keeps in good nick, could be another option...seriously though he seems to a bit of coaching and technique stuff, bring him in, Peter.Breen does.alot of good work re technique on Rugby Bricks too, not like these guys won't.have ideas
-
It's all been said but holy crap the two posters trying to claim ST hasn't been effective in the minutes he's played this series, I don't think I could possibly overstate how much better he is than Taylor in every single facet of the game.

Nope. I don't see a game manager anywhere there.

From fullback Zarn certainly managed the first Maori Irish game with his boot
