AB’s just seem to have no imagination in attack and seem to rely on individual skill set rather than well constructed attack. They seemed desperate at times and then skill set let them down with mistakes.
Ireland on the other hand were fantastic with ball in hand, just methodical either off first phase but especially off later phases. It’s actually beautiful rugby to watch.
I am just perplexed that with everything at stake the AB’s turn up and produce such a lame first half. Previously they would turn the heat up and blow teams away. Wallabies in 2019 at Eden Park is a good example.
So where to from here? Unless he falls on his sword Foster isn’t going anywhere for now. If the AB’s loses the Bled I think his position becomes untenable.
It is untenable now. He just lost a series at home. To a very good team, yes. But a team at the END of their season. NZ haven't got better under him. Why wait when everyone can see that it just isn't working? Give the new coach the next year and write off the world cup. It is not like the world cup isn't already written off, is it?

Do they give out participation certificates?

Yeah im in full agreement. But not only that....he has given loads of players mixed signals and ruined the confidence of others.
Sotutu essentially scrapped. Samisoni dropped for third game. Will Jordan on bench for second test. Sowakula? Patty Tuipolutu usurping more deserving locks. De Groot dropped. Grace ? Jacobsen? Whats the point of Perofeta? What was the point of Ennor? Says Karl T is best scrummaging prop and gives him 20 minutes in 3 tests. Foster is a complete fuckwit.
It's the hokie cokie of selection policies.
RTS comes on at 13 after playing all his games for the Blues at 12.
The whole thing is a jambalaya of a team.
Give me an Umaga Jensen brother at 13 over Ioane. He is a left winger and that's the end of it. HIs opposite number scored in every test.

@stodders I see what you did there, write a suggested new cartel and then quote it. Positive reinforcement even if it’s coming from yourself….

And to reply to myself. The Crusaders would beat the Allblacks at the moment.

Normally I'd laugh at the thought. Right now? 🤔

Another option would be Robertson, O'Gara with Ryan or Coventry.
Is NZ ready for a non-NZ assistant coach though? NZ needs some new ideas. It has all got a bit too insular.

Can't give benefits of the doubt any more. Hope Joe Schmidt gets quick promotion to head coach now.
Our hooker and midfield selections backfired unsurprisingly in my view. Outside the 50 22 Havili seemed just as pressured as Rieko all night. Taylor again failed to deliver. And the bench did not work. Needed more direction and intelligence when Smith and Cane went off but we seemed far more disorganised. Vaii gave it his all. But what was RTS there for?
Sure as hell hope we see Jordie at 12 Jordan at 15 and Rieko and Reece on the wing. Our kicking and kick chase so poor and we seem to have lost our connectivity on counter-attack.
Gibson Park and Beirne best on the park for me. Well done Ireland!Schmidt is a selector and mentor to Foster so he is responsible for some of this crap over the last 2 weeks.
Lol what
He is in camp isn’t he,coaching in a role so he is part of this fuck show.
They won test 1 when he stepped in.
Don't think he was coaching in 2 and 3

@stodders said in All Blacks vs Ireland - series decider:
New brains trust for the coaching ticket. How about:
Robertson
Gatland
SchmidtFuck yes to any and all three. But at the minute, it's anything but Foster. I'd even take Lord Bald or Cueball or Deans ahead of Foster at the minute.

As stated Samisoni not starting , quite unfathomable
We are in perpetual sh*t until forwards 1-5 become consistently competitive. -
@stodders I don't think the insularity is a problem.
There is no sensible gameplan.
Look at the Ireland back 3. A Brumbie cast off, a NZ cast off and Hugo Keenan.
None of the 3 of them would get in New Zealands team.
Keenan is not Christian Cullen.
Hansen is a journey man and Lowe was being slagged by Chris Ashton for being slow and fat last year.
But the three of them catch all their kicks and kick back intelligently. They don't get tackled into touch, they recycle and they make their tackles.
James Lowes left boot is used the way Dagg's used to be. They play all the rugby in our half. Their wingers fall over the line from 5 yards for their tries. Will Jordan has to score his from 70 meters. They have a system and we don't. Imagine what Andy Farrell could do with Reece, Jordan and Jordie.
Every player on that Ireland team is squeezing every ounce out of their ability.

We are in perpetual sh*t until forwards 1-5 become consistently competitive.NZ has enough raw material to work with. Need a better mix of ball players Vs workers. If you can't do your core job (throwing, lifting, scrummaging), offer nothing around the field and are a liability on defence, it is time to sit out until you show you can do it again. Consistently.
NZ miss someone like Franks who shifts bodies and does their core job well. They have a player like Mealamu in ST. Moody's drop off in form has been a big hit to the tight five.
Locks....there is some talent coming through, but they are green. But still enough to form a good enough tight five that is more than competitive.
-
@FakatavaAllBlack
The scary thing is we can all see it from our barstools.
Rieko at 13. Who is sanctioning this nonsense. I almost wanted to leave him there last week just for some consistency in selections.
The Beaudy/Mo'unga merry go round.
The backrow.
We came all the way from RWC 2019 and ended up again a year out with a mess of a backrow and a winger at centre.
Jesus.
Its akin to Australia pre Rennie. Beale , JOC, Cooper, Hodge, To'omua, Ashley Cooper just wearing the first jersey they pick up in the dressing room each week. An a le carte menu of team selection.
Who wants to be fly half this week lads?

Ireland choose the players to fit the system and game plan. NZ seem to choose their best players and then the game plan.
Are NZ too scared to drop the stars for fear they will leave?

ST is the new Mealamu. Moves feet before contact and even if you get hands on him he's dragging bodies with him. Coles and Taylor are yesterdays men.
