whinging
Questioning decisions isn't whinging.
it's all about the tone my dear boy
and i can read your tone
-
@mariner4life Haha. Clearly not.

reading between the lines, if this was at McLean park you would already be camping out for tickets.
-
@mariner4life I'd probably have a heart attack hearing that decision or think it was a trick from my imagination. After recovering from that, I'd have a few critical questions ... but yes, there would be a few games I'd like to go to.

@Duluth Is this one of the things Rugby Australia have successfully negotiated with NZR? Why else again in Melbourne? Why not a Super Round in NZ?
From memory it was a kiwi run promotions company that set it up.
It was always a 2 year deal. Hence next year in Melbourne again.
If trans Ta$man flights are more reasonable by then that would certainly help.

it's a good idea, stop whinging you fuckers
it was hugely affected this year by borders and border wariness. People were really gun shy about booking flights and events even as late as April. ANd fucking forget about Trans- Ta$man
Will it ever be NRL Magic Round? No, of course not. Less games. Less fans. But rugby festivals should be supported at every opportunity.
i hope you're right, my comments we're just from a melbourne based stance, we saw 10's of thousands rocking up to the MCG for AFL 3rd round games....and bugger all go to the rugby, we sat near some Brumbies members and they were saying the brumbies did nothing to promote with them...and they were members...just decided the night before to drive down and got tickets at the gate
so yes, it was effected...but there is a lot more they could do
pretty picure
-
@Kiwiwomble I reckon it woulda been better to put Moana v Drua, and the main 'local' game Rebels / Canes seems right then leave the rest as Aus v Aus / NZ v NZ
-
start of march might be just before the AFL season starts so that might be the first good call...hopefully of many

Anyway, is it too late for them to also organise a super round in NZ?

especially after this year poor turn out numbers wise
It was a 2 year deal, Victoria Gov't money pays all the teams a certain amount, they do alright out of it.
Stupid thing if I read correctly that Crusaders/Highlanders game is a late Friday game, wouldn't any sensible organisation have them early game to suit viewing time in NZ a little more? -

Which city is going to pay the dollars to Sanzaar to hold it here? Think thats what it's about money, and having it early in Aus helps to give game a boost before NRL/AFL start.

It is the early game Friday. 6pm local.
The later game is 8pm is Rebels Canes.
