@Bovidae Which age category is that? U18?
You'd think so. BOP recently had an U18 regional tourney and they have High Performance players that aren't in the main Volcanix squad. Could also include some squad members that need game time. Maybe 'junior' is being used to provide a wide scope.

You would think so, but I am not entirely sure.

What are the chances of WRU releasing a team list for today's pre-season match??
I get the feeling the only reason the publish their team lists for NPC games is because they have to under the competition rules. They seem so reluctant to actually engage with their fans

@Bovidae one team names 30 the other 20?
Great for these players to get games post club season but you have to wonder what the idea of 'competition' is here. May as well be a development camp opposed training if it's going to have unlimited subs.

The Waikato Juniors (U19s) play another pre-season game against Wellington U19s in Taihape tomorrow. Maybe a team will be announced.
The competition matches start next weekend.

What the hell is going on with all the secrecy on information about the men's NPC squad. Plenty about the women's teams, club teams and junior teams - but nothing bar the odd photo on the defending champions.
Is this a directive from within the team itself? I think the fans deserve an explanation.
I want to know if the McWhannell and Finau injuries are serious for instance.

@ARHS We've discussed the lack of info before, so I don't see that changing. I would expect the women's team to be named shortly and the men's team later this afternoon.
Assuming that team is correct, I'm hoping that Finau is on the bench, purely to accommodate Messam starting.
