I've generally stayed away from the recent Fozzie pile ons (not because I think he's a good coach, just we've been doing it a few years now), but I'm fully on board now.
Card Barrett at 6. What the actual fuck? PGS over Sotutu or Akira on the bench. Fuck off.
I've had migraines this week, am about to resign from my current job with nothing new lined up as the owners are dickheads, but that all pales into comparison over Barrett at 6.
i dont know if i expect us too but i think we can...but once again i think it will be on the back of a moment or two to individual brilliance from someone like Reece rather than a cohesive and well executed gameplan

"Fosters Flops Since 2003". It's only taken 19 years to catch up with Steamers fans

Barrett at 6 and Ennor at 23.
This coaching group are soft as butter.
S Barrett is top three as a lock, but way down the list as a six. Akira, Dalton, PGS, Cane even Savea would be better picks there - and that's just in the current squad.
Picking PGS on the bench instead of a Akira is also a joke (assuming AI isn't one of the Covid cases).
Hooker is also around the wrong way.
LF, QT are also pretty average picks - probably forced with the current injuries/illnesses.
At least they picked the right ten.
Akira must have Covid, or Foster has turned into Steve Hansen.
-
so the mix in teh forwards is:
Three locks (okay)
Three Opensides (ummm)
One #8 (okay)This is a mess because we are absolutely wedded to starting a ruck-shy midget at 8 because the selectors watch YouTube.

@MN5 im still annoyed TUJ, who looked devastating in a poor highlander team, wasnt consider ahead of ennor for the squad but yes, a fit and on form RTS could/should have provided a real spark
He must be a “project” player
-
@Kiwiwomble he probably hurt himself returning his Highlander kit!
-
@taniwharugby in fairness he's been pretty good this year, only missed a couple og game with small niggles
started 11 (including 8 in a row), bench for 1 and missed 3...better than lost of our backs

Strange that Barrett is at 6 to begin with. Has that ever been successful? PGS on the bench as well instead of Akira. If it's tight would you want a debutant on the field?

All those backs have fallen over and Tuivasa-Sheck still doesn’t get a go in the 23.
I think it's because all those backs have fallen over is why RTS is not in the 23. Puts undue pressure on him especially if as expected the game is tight. Ennor has a couple of seasons in the AB's under his belt.

Not too worried about that call. I would've been surprised to see RTS before Test 3 (if at all in this series)
If QT gets injured JB will probably move to 12. So they needed a 13/wing more than a specialist 12 on the bench

personally i feel having BB inside and RI outside would have off set quite a bit of that

Like the team. ABs by 15+

That's exactly it. A specialist 12 or winger wouldn't provide the cover needed based on who is starting.

@Tim concerning thing about that, is I expect he has been working with the players this week (as I doubt he and Fozzie were rooming together at any point for them to be 'household contacts' and therefore he had already been isolating?) meaning there are likely to be other changes before k/o....
